Welcome to Collingwood #13 Harry DeMattia

Re: Welcome to Collingwood #13 Harry DeMattia
This kid is arriving very quickly. Three good games in last four and he totally dominated his position on the wing in the VFL today ( played on Rioli jnr for a while )
Supposedly very professional and diligent during the week and what impresses me, is the ground he easily covers in the VFL. He’s a bit one sided ( leftie ) but usually finds the time to get on his preferred side. Neat user of the footy and strong overhead. Wouldn’t totally surprise if he gets a chance in the seniors before the end of the season ( especially if there’s nothing riding on ladder position )

That's great news on DeMattia, but BOG in the VFL today was Allan with 30 disposals and 2 goals. We need both of these boys to push for senior spots next year, as we transition away from relying on our ageing veterans.
Re: Welcome to Collingwood #13 Harry DeMattia
Allan was BOG but let’s not forget, Allan is now 20 and Dimattia is still 18.
DiMattia ( 24 touches ) is now starting to get some consistency into in his game after missing three months with finger surgery. They’re different players but DiMattias last month has shown plenty of upside and promise.

Are we tipping a Baptism of Fire debut against the Filth next week?

I wouldn’t think so, especially with more senior experience available again next week. Should the club arrive at the old “ mathematically impossible to make eight “ scenario later in the season, they might give him a taste just to prepare him for next season.

Great to hear that DeMattia's starting to find his way in the VFL, and maybe he might be pressing for selection in coming weeks.

A question put out there!!
If we were to drop either Scum or Sydney games
would they blood Harry in two remaining games against Lions & Demons???

I think yes. If we drop the blues game, it’s time to play the kids in form. The only thing that irks me is it helps Whorethorn and Freo.
