Considering A$8 mill was found for Starc & Cummins, surely that makes McGurk worth at least A$5 mill ?

Esp. as he has a possible 20 overs to bat. and the bowlers have only 4 to bowl.

It's a game. Enjoy it. :D

^ The less said, the better, Donny.

Tonight, though, he was named POTM for his brilliant show against the Strikers - 70 from 37 balls. That's his highest score, so far. The Renegades made it home with 6/178.

ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss"Melbourne Renegades young gun Jake Fraser-McGurk has penned a four-year deal with the club after a breakout Big Bash season in red.

The 21-year-old has committed to the Renegades until at least the end of BBL|17 after a campaign in which he has lived up to his potential, and topped the club’s run-scorers list.

Prior to KFC BBL|13, despite occasional flashes of brilliance including a stunning boundary catch in December 2021, Fraser-McGurk had struggled for for consistency with the bat, and averaged just 11.63 after 24 innings,

However since being handed the No.3 spot in the Renegades’ order, the Vicstorian has thrived."

"Two breakout KFC BBL stars, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Xavier Bartlett, have earnt maiden international call-ups after Glenn Maxwell and Jhye Richardson were ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against West Indies.

Fraser-McGurk and Bartlett are both in line to make their international debuts in the three-game ODI campaign being played from February 2, with games in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra."

B. Horne:

'Then, in the blink of an eye, it was over.

Fraser-McGurk out to the fifth delivery of the first over of the 50-over match, prodding at a delivery on a Test match line and length with no footwork.
...

But Fraser-McGurk will know he won't open the batting for Australia for long without a bit more discretion thrown in with the fireworks.
...

Opening the batting is prime time to bat in white ball cricket , and a platform needs to be set by the top two...

Some were surprised that selectors didn't go with Big Bash player of the year matt Short...'

They both showed enough in their game each, so far, to indicate that they could be special talents.

And Bartlett starred again. He was named POTM and POTS in Canberra today. Meanwhile, Jake smoked 41 runs from 18 balls. Australia was 67, halfway through the 5th over and chasing a target of just 87, when he holed out.

Adam Gilchrist interviewed Jake after the match and told him to his face that he is "mesmerising to watch."

Himself after today's match:
It's good to have some self belief to know that I can do it if I ever get picked again. To know that I can do it at the highest level. Personally it's great, and to come away with a 3-0 series win, it's even better. [The coach and captain] thought I showed good intent in Sydney. It was more of a mental thing, not fully committing to that shot. Worked a bit on that and just trying to get my head towards the ball when he bowls that length.
"If I ever get picked again"!

And Captain SPD BradSmith in the after-match interview:
That was exciting wasn't it. Geez he hits them clean when he gets a hold of them. I'm sure we're going to see plenty more of that in the future.

"Australian cricket legend Ricky Ponting has earmarked Jake Fraser-McGurk as a future Test star, believing the 21-year-old blaster has as much talent as a young David Warner.

The Victorian, who crossed to South Australia ahead of the current domestic season is the talk of the cricket world for his fearless and cavalier approach to opening."

His form line the past couple weeks makes him a must pick for the upcoming World Cup
He needs 1 break through 100 at this level and his belief will be through the roof
