My exploits in front of the tv make the matchday thread look like kumbaya around the campfire. I genuinely turn into a freak show. Not something I'm proud of but at least it doesn't leave the privacy of the living room.
I'm much more composed at the game, you somehow feel like you have more control over the result :)

I cannot blame them for venting. In our first 3 games we were competitive in the first quarter then we went into our shells and let the opposition play the rest of the game on their terms.

The Brisbane game looked like it was going to go the same way.

I don't like canning players during a match.. they are in the heat, and especially those who are involved more than others, are prone to make more errors.
Supporters are emotional, we all are at times. Their angst should be taken with a little empathy, but it's the ugly supporter who raises out of their swamp I don't like.
I found a lot of good people get a tad ugly lol, Sometimes written words don't reflect the banter in good faith.

I actually have never understood how anyone can waste time posting during a game. I'm always too emotionally engrossed on the game itself.

QT? HT? 3QT? (Or maybe they don't count...)

Can ya understand folks eating & drinking during a game? (Gotta say, I can't.)

Look, we fought back , again, was not a pretty match, but we hung in there, Dons were doing that edge shit, desperate, and we hung in there. Im satisfied, take 2 points, draws beat the hell out of a loss. Now we can re load and get ready for the Bluebellies, who have not played yet.so take the two points, im happy, and run with it.
Agree re your sentiment but the attacks on the match day venting, of which was mild today, and the naming people dickheads is getting boring. Time to move on from this issue.

Geez you don't do irony well do you. No one was seriously calling for Fly to be sacked. It's an old soccer saying. "Sack everyone, fold the club." No one means it.

Rubbish, let’s discuss this with honesty and accuracy. I was on the game thread and it was definitely not irony! Nothing of the sort. It was pure vindictiveness from a typical fair weather fan. All clubs have these idiots but geez, we seem to have more than our share. Unless someone thinks before they post, they can’t then try to think of withdrawing the comment after they post

^ I've read back over the first part of that thread - there isn't a single comment about the coach before halftime. Of course, it would be surprising if there were - he was the AFLCA's Coach of the Year in his first season and won the flag in his second. Mostly, people can distinguish between the great coach now leading the Club and the previous very average one.

That's because the usual drivel of posting for effect by dog whistling the usual 'season over', 'sack the coach' posts were binned. Maladaptive humor styles rarely hit the mark.

Better to vent via chat room text then buy a new TV every week.

That said, my 55inches doesn’t really cut it anymore… might be worth it this one time.
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

RB, you’re assuming that everyone watches with others around to vent to. Many watch alone and want to vent to someone and choose the match thread. A burden shared is apparently a burden halved
