Sorry folks, but last night was humiliating.

I'm not sure what effect the eviction of Joffa had on our collective psyche. It might have caused a few people to withdraw within themselves maybe. I don't know.

But last night was THE WORST effort by the Cheer Squad this year. It was almost as if the Cheer Squad regressed into 1999 mode ... ALMOST ... it wasn't quite THAT bad.

To those who DID chant and tried to help create some sort of vibe up there, I thank you deeply. As always you were wonderful. You know who you are.

But unfortunately there were a lot of PASSENGERS occupying the area last night. It was humiliating to stand up there desperately pleading for a bit of soul ... a bit of heart ... a bit of passion ... and get such a miniscule response.

And the lack of support we got from the people immediately behind us and to each side of us was just heartbreaking.

For the first time this year I actually found myself wondering why the f*ck I bother.

How the hell do you get to sit in the cheer squad area? Couldn't get in. Do you just lie and say yes when the redcoats ask if you are part of the CS? I always say no because I assume you need a pass or something. I only went to last nights game because of all the pleas on the normal forum asking for support and the promises that there would be plenty of room near you. Ended up sitting the deck below not too far from the so called 'outer squad'. Even at half voice, both CS were louder then the Richmond supporters for most of the match, because they only started to cheer at the 10 min mark of the last quarter.

The wait is almost over.

Hi Alf..... I agree with your post wholeheartedly.... it was the worst performance we put on this year......my god I think that if somepeople actually opened their mouth and let some volume out they would die of oxygen rush......even people that usually put in didnt..... I think we were all in shock at Joffa's eviction...... or as u said a lot of ppl thought "why bother". Security very slowly is killing the passion at the football and if that is what its going to be like my heart is bleeding for future generations...... But then again it only happens because we are Collingwood...... and all the more reasons for us to regroup next week and be louder than ever.....

BE LOUD........BE PROUD

alf, no matter how subdued the cheer squad was last night, the tiger fans were worse. in my eyes, they have vindicated their status as the biggest bandwagon supporters in the league, not even cheering loudly when they hit the front. that "roar metre" is further proof of this - they only cheer when they're winning. the bloody thing is so rigged, it's not funny.
