Guys, can someone tell me who kicked the first goal on Saturday? In all the excitement I forgot that I had three bets on - Caff, Pendles and Leeroy, and I have a hopeful feeling that the big Anvil nailed the first??

Very Very happy, was spewing not to be there, it hurt me deeply having to watch it on the box. Was wrapped to see such a great team effort. The most enjoyable moment for me was Heater taking a hanger over schnieder with his dumb tongue and Luke Ball's early goal. Swanny was at his best yet again.

Didn't rate us a great chance going into that game. Not sure why. Just had the feeling we wouldn't do it. Wasn't even nevous. Until the 2nd Q when we were all over them. I then thought we had something to lose after playing so well. Pleasantly surprised. Dominated them for majority of 4 Qs.

But they did play horrible. Their skills horrible. Wasn't their day. Not much went right for them TBH.

When they miss goals from 15m out in front and L. Brown kicks em from the boundary line, you basically know it's your day.

In which case I wouldn't read too much into this win. IMO before the game we we're a premiership hope. We still remained that Win loss or draw.

Just becasue we won this game, doesn't mean we are automatically better than the Saints and leap frog them in the race. We have to repeat this in September. I doubt the Saints will repeat their performance from Saturday.

You could argue that our pressure was a major contributor to their failings. IMO that is the case to a certian extent. But not all. They had a sub par game too.

With that being said, great win. great feeling ATM. Top of the ladder and all.

L.Brown, best game for the club.

Goldsack & Wellers both doing well.

Maxwell may have to come back via VFL. Not cos of our team's form nessecerialy, but cos he has missed so much footy.

Geez would be great if we could keep top spot and freo could keep 4th. We need to hope Freo win this week against the Dogs. I don't see that happening though.

Plenty of positives. But we need to ensure the eyes remain on the prize.

We won the battle, but haven't won the war.

^ I agree.

Our pressure was first rate but saints were a little off the boil IMO.

They amount of scoring opportunities they created in the second half would be a little concerning to Mick, they showed during that time that we'll have one hell of a fight on our hands if we meet again in September.

The positive though is that players like Cloke, Maxwell and Dick if all available will make us a stronger unit the next time around whilst I expect players like Dawes will be able to make a greater impact on the game.

All in all I was estatic with the win, it's what we all hoped for and should provide us with some extra confidence going into the upcoming clash against the cats and finals.

Go pies!

I agree Swoop, they were close to full strength (well Del Santo) was a late withdrawal, but we had more outs than they did.
And we still managed to beat them & do it well.

Lets see how we go in the next few weeks shall we, but suffice to say we're all happy down at Eddieland this week.

People, that was a 4 quarter dismantling of a quality football side. saints were on the back foot all game - We didn't give them a sniff and won EVERY quarter!

Yes, crywolt wasn't 100% & the saints were due after being up for a month - travelling to Perth, Brisbane & playing the cats.

Still, take nothing away from the boys - Sensational win!
It's going to be some ride home this year - buckle up!!

Was just watching a bit of the replay from the game and noticed in the 1st qtr around the 7&1/2 min mark that dirty arsewipe of a human being the one that goes by the name therapist sinks his knee into Balls head while he was lying on the ground just after ball wins a free. Thats twice now that arsewipe has had a snipe at Ball! Rnd 3 he raked his fingures and gouged ball in the face the dirty scum.
Never disperse your focus unless absolutely necessary. Face one adversary at a time!

Bloody hell those commentators really were unbearable on Saturday, why do we have to play 5/6 on Ten for the remainder of the year?
