Kick ins were pretty good, been missing a player to do that. Seems cool under pressure, still a little unsure of himself but I certainly see the nascent star underneath. Give him a long contract on ok money so if he does become a star we get 1 or 2 years cheaper (with the first couple paying a bit overs). If Dangerfield is going we have to lock up the SA boys because Adelaide wont give two shits about paying overs.

Best game to date. The 1 clanger stands out but generally used the ball well. Look forward to seeing what he can bring with a full preseason under his belt. Wonder if he'll go into mothballs now or will be allowed to play in the VFL finals. Same discussion with Reid really.

I agree. I'm glad you like it. Tell your friends.

Not rushing to denounce him, but the number of times he kicked the ball over the head of a team mate who would then be spoiled easily...

Still, good to see him steady in the team. Wouldn't be desperate to keep him, but we should give him another go.

Thought he has improved every week, looks more confident, bigger on the ground, moves quick with his hands and has really good reaction times, goes when he needs to go...more time will prove why he had been rated the best school boy since Carey.

I'd definately play him in the VFL, and I'd tell him to take the game on, if he has a break out game in the VFL his stocks will rise in regards to his contract, and id be happy to pay if he gives us a glimpse of the player he'll become.

i hope we play him the vfl not only to shore up the defence but also to give him some finals experience.

i think many are expecting too much from him. he has played four games. like you say, get a preseason and further development into him and i think we'll start to see him emerge.

At the Pies or Adelaide?

FWIW I don't think we can realistically expect to get an idea of the player he could be until he gets a full preseason under his best.

I'm a little underwhelmed at present by his performances I will admit but do believe we generally underestimate how fit in body and mind one needs to play AFL football and how much an interrupted preseason puts players behind the eight ball from the get go.

If he decides to leave as long as we get suitable compensation I'll live with it but are happy for him to re-sign and hopefully show us what he's really got in 2016.

I've seen little to suggest he was worth what we paid for him, but the "little" is the issue, his calmness is a rare quality, not sold on him but I'd much prefer he stayed than left.

For mine his best game in the seniors. Did some good things had a couple real important touches under pressure but didn't get involved all the time.
He still hasn't had a AFL preseason
He's just over 12 months back from a knee reco and they say it takes 18 months to fully recover
I've seen enough to think he has a huge upside and is worth a contract which hopefully he signs
To me I think th kid is just plain shy hence his no public commitment to th club or w hint of which way his leaning
Remember Beams when he first came into seniors he could barely get 3 words out of his mouth when being spoken too
I'm a betting man and love the odds in a bet if I was framing a market right now it would be
$1.10 he stays
$2.00 he leaves
Might sound silly I just have this gut feeling
Was interested watching his interactions with Pendles yesterday. When he was under the pump Pendles was there conversely when Pendles was looking for a option he went to scharenberg often.
Maybe the captain was showing the kid how important and valuable he sees him
Fingers crossed he stays

If you're going to have him at $1.10 to stay, then he'd have to be around $4.90 to go.... Not $2.00!

You can tell how informed the debate in a thread is when people get diverted into an argument about how best to frame a betting market for the issue they've been debating for the previous 62 pages.

no signature? :?

we should be framing a market for when we think a signature or otherwise might occur.

my tip is next week after the final interviews and mad monday. can someone get to the rising sun today and check on schazza's interactions with the group and with whom he sits and where.

Look, my tip is that he'll be on the edge of the circle, he may not even dress up in a purple wig or sport fake breasts on his Goldilocks costume and that he won't be quite as enthusiastic as you might wish when it comes to the raising of the wrist. Not really drunk enough = not quite a joiner.
