Are you able to shed any light onto why Dayne switched from Alaistair Lynch to Connors in 2012?
That's telling. That Connors is an absolute disgrace, who would be prepared to destroy a player's career for a few extra bucks in commission.
Player managers are nothing better than pimps.

So Varcoe is better than Buckley?
How about Blair?
Just because someone has a premiership medal doesn't mean they aren't average footballers.
Varcoe was better than average once but not so certain he is now.

Beams for 5, Jack Crisp and Levi Greenwood.

Yep, I can just imagine Liam Pickering bitch-slapping Buddy Frankiln. Its probably why he changed managers.

If we do pick 5, Crisp & Greenwood l would spew up.
We need to stick to our guns.
Pick 5 & Redden/ Aish is the only outcome.
If the club crumbles and gives in to that deal, then they have no BALLS.
After all of the huffing & puffing about pick 5 & a player, then they take that deal.
All respect will be lost by the CFC.
We would be the laughing stock of the AFL. Easy pushovers when it comes to trading.
STICK TO YOUR GUNS.

He was conspicuous with his presence in this big game.

Thanks Flashman - I'd never seen that until now.

Super goal that killed the game (he also kicked the first two in a couple of minutes). It highlights why we'd be thinking about signing him. We are a weak running side and badly need to add some players that can get up and down the field. It's now the number 1 priority of any team and we've got quite a way to go before we are competitive.

I hadn't watched it since 2011 myself (which is about the time I switched off the TV and went for a walk/cry).
I know you're being facetious but Varcoe was very good that game and if we get him I'm prepared to give him at least a chance in the hope he can produce some opportunistic goals and provide some spark to an at times very dour side.

That's the way I see it Inky.
My Dad and brother are both very keen Geelong supporters and they think that he still has plenty of upside to offer a club. They said he was ordinary this year but he missed virtually the entire 2013 plus he was shopped around last year and didn't look as motivated and happy as he has previously.
He's not the answer to our problems but if he's not costing too much and he's fit he could surprise a few people. If we get him I hope he does.

i am hearing rumours that are unnerving me. Who is Jack Crisp and I hope that we are not about to accept this unknown player as part of a deal for Beams, because that would seem to be a massive retreat and a deal to our disadvantage. If we are trying to somehow get Levi Greenwood this way, then that is very wrong because it is giving Brisbane a massively advantageous deal. I would rather have Beams than Greenwood and 2 picks. I hope to God that we are not preparing to give up Beams to the Brions for picks 5, 25 and Crisp, and then give away Pick 25 for Greenwood. Because that would be just devastating.

Tell ya what, we better not be entertaining this Jack Crisp talk. Absolutely stinks of desperation if we do. Get what you sought out for in the first place Pies and hold firm. In no way is he a like for like.

Unfortunately, I think that's exactly what will happen and what's worse, we'll only get Varcoe back from the H trade.
Here's some NEAFL footage of Jack Crisp for those who've never seen him -

There is a bit to like there, but it's obviously a massive step down from AFL.

get a grip peeps! We've never mentioned any interest in this Crisp guy, Brisbane are the ones that have put him forward as he is superfluous to their needs. It's laughable really, like us putting forward Mooney or Yagmoor for Dangerfield
