We could use him as a fill-in fullback, just until Dunne gets back.
With Reid, Moore, Shaz and Beams to choose from, we would probably only have to ask Langdon or Howe to take fullback duties one week out of two, on average.

Happy to have him back, and he would make a fine addition to our team although not at any great expense.
I.e I'd be loathed to lose a good player for him, possibly later draft picks, say for a pair of 2nd rounders as someone else mentioned.

Look, the guy has won his Club's last 4 B&Fs and captains his Club. Why wouldn't you recruit him?

I think you might have your Dayne's mixed up (although me thinks you might have done so intentionally.
I do think he isnt going anywhere though. I think he has a history of failing to attend the B&F when he is planning to leave his club. Apparently he had a Jeff Fenech moment this time around (i.e., i love yuz all).

Dayne Beams has conceded he considered a return to Melbourne, but said he couldn't leave a Brisbane team he thought was on the verge of success.
"I've thought about going back to Melbourne and those discussions happened, and I'm not going to lie to you, I had those thoughts in my head," Beams told a packed Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre which hosted the Lions' 2018 best and fairest count.
"The one thing I kept coming back to is this group and you blokes - I bloody love you, I really do.
"The last six months have been unbelievable. I've been able to connect with you on such a deeper level."

I predict he'll stay at the Bears for one more year, then request a trade to Collingwood. The Bears will either arrange a trade or else risk losing him for nothing 12 months later.
