I didn't realize that was how it worked - Its great news so long as we don't lose out on Quaynor or Kelly. I Thought we had to take the young ones before the end of the round they are expected to be in. So we get dibs on trade offers before our own in that round but if we didn't execute in that round we lose the privilage.
I have no problem with Beams for 18 but I wouldn't pass on either Quaynor or Kelly - no other reason than I've gotten used to them being in B+W

Firstly, Beams is 29 but we are in our Premiership window. Even if he only has 2-3 years left, it's worth it. As long as his 2019 season is something close to his 2018 season.
Secondly, we'd be trading away a pick that likely would have been needed to draft Quaynor. instead we trade it for Beams and still get Quaynor with later picks. We really lose very little by giving up pick 18.
Whether it's for Beams or something else we will be trading pick 18. We also will be getting a first round talent in Quaynor. It's a great scenario for us. I think this loophole needs to be closed, but while it's there we need to use it.
We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night
Beams: Great extractor, accumulator, can link up, good penetrating kick, tough, a leader and kicks goals regularly. Only thing missing is some real pace. Almost a complete package and still at his peak.

Also missing size. And durability. And a defensive game.
(I don't want that to sound like he's worse than he is. No one in the game today is a complete footballer. It's just a question of whether their strengths and weaknesses match your team's needs.)
Hmm...must say i am wary of Dayne Beams...He did not impress me when back in 2015 he attempted to get Jack Crisp into more trouble than he already was for a betting indiscretion. I hope Dayne Beams will show more loyalty and team spirit than that if he returns to us.
"Reports tonight suggesting that Dayne Beams will formally request a trade to Collingwood tomorrow morning & that the Pies will hand over pick 18 & a future pick to get the deal done."
This is phucking unreal. I tip Beams will have his best year yet, once back home!
A midfield grouping of Pendles, Beams, Treloar, Adams, Sidey, Sier and Philips is the greatest line-up ever assembled by any team imo. Oh, and did I mention De Goey can go through there as well? Phuck me.
While it would have been good to get May, I'm not so fussed, now that Darcy Moore and Langdon have re-signed and Dunn is expected to be available from round one. Also, the recruitment of Roughead gives us more KPP options at either end of the ground.
I smell a phucking Premiership guys! Get on board the Bucks train folks. Go Pies!
