I was as much against this as bringing back Tarrant, but now I think about it, to think we could have De Goey, Crisp, Greenwood and Beams all next year and in the end it will have cost us a future 1st or 2nd rd pick, its pretty funny

But in retrospect are you still against Tarrant having returned?

Yes, what did we get with Tarrant? The team went downhill every year he returned
I will however forever laugh at the talk of Tarrant leaving Collingwood to win a premiership at Fremantle
So much hate from a few fans when we let him go

You obviously havnt heard Bucks Copeland trophy speech. Ill back the clubs decision on whoever we recruit ,with the outstanding guidance and support of a fully professional football department. Im sure the membership department wont have a dry eye on your regretful, declined support for our great club.

^ This is going off topic, and the comment above was not addressed to me, but I have to say that there are many ways in which the football department is probably not "fully professional".
Back on topic, the question remains: is there reason to believe he's been a bad influence on teammates in the past and might be in the future?

Knightmare sounds unenthusiastic:

Dayne Beams is good for 15/16 games a year. 29 before the start of the season. A future second rounder is all he's worth at this age/stage. #AFLTrades
Replying to @<snip>
Plugging in a Beams trade and pick 31/32 is Beams' worth if after a more objective and analytical measure of worth:

I noted the "unsubstantiated " Barrett report which he stated he never even talked to Beams and his people which seemed stupid
But there may be traction to the story

journalists think they are so smart and that they instigate talks between players and clubs due to mass media hysteria lol
Some of these journos like barrett are so self absorbed.

He comes straight in for Josh Thomas or James Aish.

Yep a big improvement on JT, who has been a solid player in his own right and will continue to be a useful in the absence of Elliot and a genuine crumbing forward. If we keep JT he will continue to be a great depth player that can rotate through the forward line and the centre.
If not, then we've just done a massive upgrade from a good-ordinary player to one of the top midfielders in the game. So excited to have Beamsy back!

paul connors just declared beams could move but the deal would need to be heavily weighted in favour of brisbane.
i was excited to have beams back.
now i'm not, we need him for unders not overs.
walk away pies.
injuries and age.
we can do better.
