So what????
Some people are saying we 'wasted' two first round picks on Beams

I say we 'wasted' two Top 10 picks on Egan and Freeman

Point is, first round picks are no guarantee of success
So we can add the picks of Egan and Freeman to other poor decisions the club has made. Just think Cripps was taken after Freeman. ***sigh.

The Club always looks after it's Champions and in saying that, Beams left the club and spat on it, he came back and shat on it. Two clubs have given him everything and it's still all about him. Two clubs have paid for the best treatment anyone could receive and it's still all about him. Hopefully an agreement can reached quickly so his salary doesn't cost us de Goey or Moore.

At the end of the day the club can fully support Dayne without having a price tag attached.

The way I see it if his issues were all due to a prolonged and/or serious physical injury sustained whilst representing the club then our financial responsibility towards him would be far greater.

As it is it appears it's decisions or actions he's made outside the scope of being a footballer that's at the heart of his struggles and the club needs to find the best possible outcome in terms of salary cap implications if Dayne doesn't return to the field in 2020.

The strategy was clearly to bring in a player who the decision makers at the club felt could help get us over the line after a narrow miss in 2018. You can say that was the wrong strategy, or Beams was the wrong player, and those are valid opinions. Obviously the strategy didn't work in the short term, whether and how much it hurts us in the mid-long term remains to be seen. But keeping the 2 picks would not have helped us win a flag in 2019 or 2020
Stop talking sense Rd10.

^ Well, possibly - but experienced posters know to hold that thought until at least halfway through the first quarter of the first Collingwood "official" AFL pre-season game.

In what plausible sense of the word could a disease likely to kill between 50,000 and 150,000 Australians be said to be a “blessing”?
