The whole private investigation thing was ridiculous and embarassing. Why would he want to come to Collingwood when we had some dodgy person with a camera and tape recorder interviewing associates, friends etr checking into his private life. It is a joke and the club looks stupid. And crap decision too by the way, should have taken the risk.

Fair enough.
I think if you're thirty and still acting up - there are some serious questions to be asked. Stuff ups in youth are expected, stuff ups from developed characters should be avoided.
I would have loved Ben next year...but would still be very worried re: his hammys and the tone he might set within the club.

Yep, would have been much smarter just to pick him without due dilligence. After all, the success rate for rehabilitating drug addicts first time around is so high isn't it? And you wouldn't have screamed like a stuck pick if we picked him up only to see him run off the rails and start using again would you? Who looks stupid?

Try telling Terry Wallace that one Dave.
We may finish a solid ninth... who knows.
WHo knows yet if any team will take him or if the AFL will list him.

Now I can still go to the footy. I was prepared to cancel my membership if we picked that junkie.
C E L E B R A T I O N!
I look forward to seeing Shaz Wellingham fit again and firing in the midfield. We don't need ancient junkies who can't guarantee he can even play, let alone well and for how long? A year, two at best?
Congratulations to Bucks for having the sense - and balls - to say we shouldn't pick him on football grounds alone!
GO PIES!
in all seriousness pull ur head in
Change your avatar ham head!!
nah might leave it a couple days and just think of what could have been.

There is due dilligence and there is over the top due dilligence, so pull your head in. This is a forum for all points of view.

It is still unclear if the AFL will register him again - so no concrete plans can be made about him anyway.

It was reported on MMM this morning in Briz that" Collingwood, after talking with police, have decided not to pursue signing Cousins"!!!
Obviously still hanging with the wrong people and doing what he shouldn't ought to??

that's right...
....and who would have thought, we won our last premiership with blokes just like this!!!!!

The main bloke they are referring to currently resides in Hakea prison and has done since June.
It'd be a bit hard to "hang out" with him.
During the investigation which lead to his arrest, many phone calls were intercepted.
Think you'll find the truth of the report/article is somewhere in between.

Geez, YET another lost opportunity to add to the likes of Quinlan, Locket, Gheric, Nick Stevens etc etc etc.
Piss poor effort by the pies. We NEED talented experience after the recent losses of Bucks, Wakes, Clements, Burns, Holland etc etc. The team we have now might qualify for the bloody under 23's soon!!
Oh well, we MIGHT get to see another flag in our time......................!! At least I can treasure 1990!!!
