Seems to have a presence and poise about him and doesn't get flustered.

"Composed" is the word, Cam. This guy is so smoothe. Love the one-hnad pickups, and his movement/judgement/size etc are grouse for a, what, a 3rd gamer.

Some great tackles, too. Slipped under a few people's guard after his first game, when Toovey and Dick kicked 5 between them, but Cox has probably been the most consistently good of the three so far (although I'm a big fan of Toovey's, and Dick certainly knows where the goals are).

Looks like our future CHB.He and Bryan for me were the things I like about the win today.Good thing about him he is very good on the rebound.Good long kick and spots his targets.Remember seeing him at training one day at the start 2006.Was on the rookie list but oozed leadership with the way he talked on the track. Was the loudest out there.A key position player with skill are hard to find.By all reports worked his ar$e off pre-season.Hoping he develops into a Justin Leppitch type half back.Well done Shannon!

I was so excited, I nearly fell from the second level when he kicked that snap goal from 50! A very exciting future we have at Pie land.

Agreed, punkologist, it was probably the best individual moment of the game, especially occurring when it did. Was probably the nail in the coffin.

He is the standout in the Cox, Toovey and Dick combo. 20 touches today and didnt put a foot wrong. His opponent Monfries was dangerous but held him very nicely. Dick is going to provide a lot of excitement, and Toovey is going to do some very nice things and add versatility...but Cox seems to me to be the consistent workhorse who does little wrong. He has done enough to earn his spot for a while now. Im still not sold on Toovey and Dick as to whether they are in our top 22 just yet. Dick is skinny, and i think Toovey lacks a position at the moment...just seems to be there.

That said, Dick was amazing inthe last quarter...he is going to really be one to watch in the future

This young fella Cox is going to be a cracker. The thing that has really impressed me is his ability to back himself and run up the ground and pump it into the forward line, but at the same time has the awareness to get back and make a contest on his direct opponent. I reckon he has the ability/mobility to become a top notch defender in the AFL by the time the season is over.

Cox is smooth all right. Maybe I'm going overboard but the way he moves around the ground almost has a bit of 'Andrew Mcleod' about him. He sure ain't out of his depth.

Whats great about Coxy, and Toovey as well, is that they are both very composed under pressure despite it being their 3rd game. Add to that both seem to have very nice kicks on them. Havent got a 100% efficiency rate or anything, but both of their actions looks very good.

Words cant express how much of a relief it is to be excited about kid about whom you dont have to say "looks great....just needs to work on his kicking"...ala mcgough, c1, Rowe, yakka

He is one touch, doesnt panic gives us another option as he looks like he could play a few positions, another good prospect...
