You cant be serious!
This guy who we; drafted, trained up, skilled up, got a premiership with us, will be forever on our honour board as a Copeland winner, who has been paid handsomely, had the club fully support him when involved in a sticky personal issue and who was still under contract wants to bail on us and to keep him we need to offer him an extra inticement?
Let's just get the best deal possible for this bloke and move on. I'd rather worry about the players who are committed to our cause or wish to join us in our pursuit of success.
Goodbye Beames and a big hello to whoever we get!

I agree wholeheartedly!!
If he doesn't want to be there (Reasons don't matter), move him on and get the best possible trade for him.
He wants to go, Lions want him we hold his contract.
Pony up Brisbane!!
While your at it, admit you cheated and throw in the 02 & 03 Flags!!! Ambitious I know!

Our hands must not be tied on this, if he wants out, then he can take this, hed only be 1 hr from his dad by plane then too. !
you're not thinking very clearly.
Ha ha, ive heard a lot worse ideas, how many "dead cert trades " to go somewhere, for sure, lock it in,, have fallen tru at the last minute, -ala Tippett to the Brions-only for the player to end up at some other club ?? NO JW, you conceded easily, we must play hardball on this.
your not thinking clearly does not equate to my conceding anything. i am not sure how you can even make that leap.
all i hope for is getting something commensurate with beams' standing in the game.

I've never heard anyone talk for so long and say so little. Hine is full of so much jargon it's a waste of time listening to him.

He doesn't give anything away & does not want to give any advantage to his opponents in list management at other clubs.
Crikey. He did say 1st pick for beams is not going to do the deal.
He did say we had made Clark an offer & it was between us & Geelong.
Trade week hasn't even started yet. What more did you expect from him?

The AFL seems about to award the Demons pick 3 as compensation for losing Frawley.
Let's ask the Lions who is the better player, Beams or Frawley?

I understand what you're implying but can't even be considered until after the FA trade signed, sealed and delivered. Need a contract in place to calculate appropriate compo. FA window doesn't even open for another week or so. I hope it's an end of 1st round compo pick at best, only top 10 earners justify a pick after a clubs 1st round pick.

Compo based on contract salary, same formula for every player. It's not the AFL that has gone mad it's the club Frawley may go to paying him way over his worth.

He took a long time to say that.
