Maybe he barracked for the Pies as a kid?
$400K is not massive money in AFL circles in the grand scheme of things, especially since we have a yopung as all hell list on not much coin. The club knows what it is doing. beams was obviously pn BIG dollars. his replacement will be on less than that, plus more minimum wage draft picks coming in.

Very happy to get Levi. Watched a lot of him this year and I was very impressed with his power running and strength.Damien wrote:Age profile wise he's right in the window to play his best footy immediately
His disposal efficiency is about 68%. Beams the same.
Levi turned 25 in Feb this year. Obviously 26 before next season starts - his prime.
To me, such a rapid rise in 12months indicates the talent was always there. The belief in his ability seems to have now arrived.
Get it done Pies.

Levi Greenwood (born 19 February 1989) is an Australian rules footballer with the North Melbourne Football Club. [1] Greenwood grew up in the small coastal town of Port Neill on the Eyre Peninsula, and moved to Whyalla in his teens.[2]
Greenwood played his junior football at the North Whyalla Football Club in South Australia. He joined the Port Adelaide Magpies in 2005, where he played under-17s and under-19s football. In 2007, he played eleven games in the Port Adelaide seniors in the SANFL at the age of just eighteen. He nominated for the 2007 AFL National Draft, where he was selected by the North Melbourne Football Club with its second round draft selection (#32 overall). Greenwood is mainly used in the midfield, where he is known as a hard-nosed inside ball-winner, a fan and coach favourite and renowned for his courage.
Levi played his first game in Round 5 2009 against Richmond.

Levi Greenwood chooses Collingwood
Good news for all, especially those who thought players didn't want to come to Collingwood as it was allegedly a 'rabble".
Hope a suitable deal can be done to get him in black and white. He's young, has experience, is footy magnet and has played finals. Nice boost for 2015 if it gets over the line.
