It looks like the AFL have denied Richmond with their request to rookie list PoleAxed.

Dave86, most people here cannot even get Collingwood players names right, so there is no hope in hell of them getting an opposition players name right.

Sorry Dave86 it was me, (spelling Polak's name incorrectly) I will check next time. I suppose it would be like spelling Didak as Diddack, so yes I am guilty as charged. Again sorry it was a stupid mistake.

lol sorry to say it so bluntly...was not having a go at you...i dont care about spelling errors......just this was always going to be a popular topic which was going to be high up on the board and people are not going to take it seriously when Polak's name is spelt Pollack.

But I've seen a number of people do it.

So it wasnt only us who didnt want Bitchmond to get another pick. The way i see it if they want Cousins they should use there pick.

Snap.

Simple equation.

if Richmond want Cousins, draft him. They have a pick in the draft.

They want some more kids, rookie them.

If Polak is crook, put him on the LTI list and elevate a rookie.

This whole gig smacks of Richmond wanting to have their cake and eat it too. If they don't draft Cousins, don't blame the AFL, Eddie or anyone else, it's plainly their problem. I repeat, if they want him, they can draft him.

Richmond Tigers fans slam club over Ben Cousins
DIE-HARD Richmond supporters reacted angrily to their club's announcement that they are "highly unlikely" to draft Ben Cousins

Terry Wallace fronted the angry supporters after training at 8.30pm, but refused to speculate about what would happen Tuesday.

Leigh Witten, 43, planned to stay at Punt Road overnight and vowed to remain at the ground for as long as it took to convince the club to recruit Cousins.
They're passionate alright!

Got nothing to do with Cousins though. I hope Cousins plays again and I wish we had've had the balls to go for him.
Excellent point blackandwhite4life!

If Eddie tried the scam Richmond have tried it would be worse than the Didak-Shaw incident.

Your post should be compulsory reading for the apes who will blame Ed for all this. (if they can read).

looks like Richmond might take him afterall

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/ ... 61,00.html
RICHMOND appears to have headed off a fan revolt after late last night deciding to give Ben Cousins a second chance.

After a series of meetings and phone calls between Richmond directors, coaches and officials, the club decided to use its only selection in today's pre-season draft to take the fallen champ.

The Herald Sun was told the club finalised its decision after 10pm and some key Richmond players were immediately told.

Wow people power actually works sometimes! Talk about Cousins being pulled back from the teeth of the Abyss... I thought he was done for.

Wow! It will be intresting to see what actually happens just after 10am.

Talk about decision making on the run!!!

Glad the Pies are a little more considered and timely with playing list decisions. Even if the email out was spin! We at least know we did our/some due diligence.

Tigers fans are simply after some success.

I know our history is not much better, but atleast we have been making finals and notching up some wins. Its been frustrating but footy is still enjoyable.

Richmond have not had much finals action and have not been tanking for 5+ years now and are still no closer to a flag.

Good on the fans for having their say. Ultimately i doubt they would have had much pulling power. But it is atleast a good excuse for the club to take Cousins.
