Andrew Williams?

Post by MargOZ »

Does anyone have any details about West Coast's Andrew Williams? Do you think he's a good trade for Chipper?

I didn't really rate Adkins as a player but didn't really see a lot of him. Andrew Williams has potential to be a good player and I think it's much of a muchness as far as the swap went. I have seen Williams play for eagles for the last couple of years and he is a pretty decent player.

I did check out Andrew Williams's stats out before but now West Coast has taken him off their site and put Chipper on it. No sign of williams on Collingwoods site.

I think he is 185 cm tall. Can play as a wingman.

Found something from an unofficial Eagles website: http://members.iinet.net.au/~busby/Player%20Profiles%20Willaims%20Andrew.htm

Number 37
Date Of Birth 1/03/79
Height 185cm
Weight 82kg
Debut 1998
Recruited From Dandenong U18
2001 Rating D+

One of the many young players who's development stalled in 2001.
Has shown allot of promise as a utility who can play midfield, forward or down back. Is a very strong mark for his size, and is one of the quickest players at the club.

And seems he's just appeared on our website too: http://collingwoodfc.com.au/default.asp?pg=players&spg=playerprofile

assasin would probably have a better idea than most being over in WA of how williams has gone but i think he'll need to improve to break into the senior team. but once he's there, i think you'll find it very difficult to replace him. can run through lines at times, is versatile and will probably be used across half back as much as half forward. possibly the strongest overhead mark for his size in the comp. good luck to chipper - he deserves his chance elsewhere but i dont think we've lost on this.
