Why should Toovey get market rates when much better players than him have accepted much less?
I understand he probably feels that his career is limited, and he will only have a short time in the game, compartively speaking, but that doesn't make it any less disappointing.
He was the ulitmate role player for us and you need guys like that but Id rather lose him than a key position player and/or gun midfielder. If losing Tooves is the price we must pay to keep Dawes, Pendles, Cloke etc than that's what we'll have to pay.
Always a premiership player. _________________ http://youtu.be/hvtdbfI1sqQ |

How quickly some people turn on a player.
Assuming this isn't some media beatup or manager strategy how come Toovey was a legend last week and a cnut this week?
Still helped win us the 2010 GF and his ability and skills havent changed since last week. All thats changed is an article in a newspaper and that caused some posters opinion of Toovey as a player and a person to do a 180 turn. _________________ Carlscum 120 years being cheating scum |

Another Des Headland. Looked great in a great team but would be a spud in a crap team. Let him find out the hard way _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

If he does leave, hope he plays every game like the '11 gf, which was pretty atrocious IMHO. Who will be the next cult figure? or is it already fasolo? _________________ "Hey Ma get off the dang roof!" |

The thing that annoys me with Tooves, is he can play a blinder then an absolute spud of the game the next week.
I don't think he is the best player in the world, but he can do some brilliant things at times.
If only he could do it more consistently.
If Tooves does leave, hopefully the Sack can get some more game time. To be brutally honest, if I had to lose one, it would be Tooves.
I guess at the end of the day, Tooves manager is doing what he is employeed to do. His manager just seems to be going about things quite weirdly... ala Travis Cloke last year (or was it 2009?). |

this is true...I agree.
Would seem silly to do a Ross Lyon and get nothing for him though. Let him go with our blessing to the club who's prepared to do the best deal for us. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Agree.
We don't even know the facts yet. Remember how quickly people got stuck into Cloke when it turned out his Dad was just causing trouble mouthing off and Trav never wanted to go anywhere?
Let's just wait and see what happens. _________________ #TEAMBUCKS

So 300k was not good enough and he is flying the coup for 50k? Is this all there is to it?
I hope he finds a good home but at the end of the day we know Daisey took a cut many times more than that.
Anyway, he was an excellent competitor, good team player, improved his disposal and played his role to the T.He is a premiership player, versatile and quick. I would think a late first round or early second round pick is his worth.
If we get a third round pick I will be ropable. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

A lot of people who know the bloke would agree with this without any reservations. |

I would be very, very, very disappointed if Toovey left. I think it would hurt more than losing the grand final. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Agree to disagree. We have replacements in Clarke, Goldsack, Davis and even a kid or two from the seconds. I HATE arsehole player managers holding guns at Collingwood heads. Stuff that. Don't want to be at the mighty 'pies? Bugger off then....................... |
