Footy Classified just showed some footage of him commentating on the Bulldogs v Eagles game. Was giving some handy suggestions for the Eagles on how to play Lynch.
Little concerning that our director of coaching is even doing a commentating gig tbh. |

Was he giving them handy suggestions on how to play the Collingwood boys? If not, I don't see a problem. Many commentators over the years have had a finger in the pie somewhere _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Why? I am sure West Coast were actually paying attention to how the game was unfolding and in their video review of the game would have picked up on the same issue without it being pointed out.
I would have been concerned more if it was a Pies player he commented on, but since it was something I am sure West Coast themselves would have seen it wasn't really that groundbreaking. _________________ Ðavâgé

He's our opposition coaching specialist, what's the harm of him commentating on opposition games?
In fact, wouldn't it help to have full access to all the Fox Footy replays/stats etc rather then just sitting in the stands taking your own notes, or watching games off tape?
A major part of his job is to actually watch the other 17 sides and report back to Bucks with ways to exploit them, having a gig as a special comments man can't hurt that.

Agree. Its simple analysis that the "experts" would be all over. However, it is is interesting fodder for us at home and adds interest to our viewing of the game. Takes us inside a little. I think its fine and think it adds so much to the commentary rather than "here comes my man magic Davis" "i am such an important and funny commentator, listen to all of my one liners" |

True.
I am sure what Eade will do is, sit down and pick apart of the game, and find the repetitive mistakes that each side makes, which is apart of his job. Making a suggestion about Lynch isn't going to change much, Woosha can just say "what the hell would Eade know? He couldn't coach anyway." not that he would say that, I am just saying Woosha can just dismiss Eades comments and that's the end of that.
I'd be concerned if Buckley was in the coaches box and said that, kinda like with Neeld commentating Friday Night for the radio, but it was Eade, he made a suggestion I am sure Woosha has his own ideas for Lynch, and can shrug it off, or take it on board.
Just remember though, if he takes the advice on board, and does what Eade says, Eade has found already got something to report on for our clash for the Eagles. _________________ Ðavâgé

This obsession with Eade (along with the obsessions people have with David Cloke, Tony Shaw and god knows who else), has to go.
Broaden your horizons folks; some coaching appointments which work out well will involve an outside eye. Some coaching appointments which don't work out well involve die hard club people. It's not an exact science and we have to back Bucks in, including his call on assistants.
Eade hasn't done anything untoward, but apparently he's already on trial for treason and goodness knows what in some people's minds. Just because the season is going to be challenging doesn't mean we need to start lining up scapegoats in advance of disappointment.
Deal with new challenges. Move on from old assumptions. Embrace new solutions. Grow! _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Eade is a waste of money for the club. I think he got in Buckley's ear before last weekend's game. We played the same sort of unaccountable style the Bulldogs have been playing against Eade. And Eade has never won a flag. A wasted appointment! The Club should let him go to the media for good. |

totally correct.
Bucks was our opposition coaching specialist under MM one year. Didn't he also have a media role? No one here had a problem then. |

Mick had a roll on SEN last year. What's the difference.
What Eade said would have been nothing different to what West Coast would have already known. |

You guys would be shocked if you heard some of the stuff coaches talk to each other about.
What you hear a coach say via the media is usually just 'stating the bleeding obvious' anyway. _________________ "MAKE COLLINGWOOD GRATE AGAIN" |
