Post subject: THE NERVE OF PORT ADELAIDE | |
|
Port Adelaide wants to play two games up in Darwin each year during the home and away season. Given that about a quarter of their team is aboriginal it is not a bad idea.
However the problem that i have with it is that they still want THEIR 11 HOME GAMES at football park. Port expects the AFL to switch its poorer attended games in Melbourne eg Bulldogs and Kangaroos.
If Port are serious they should be forced to give up their home games instead of expecting Melbourne clubs to prostitute themselves by selling home games.
I think the interstate clubs are getting out of control and the AFL needs to step in. When Hawthorn and StKilda asked to play in Tasmania they didnt tell the AFL to switch their games against Freo in Perth....lol

If the AFL even consider this proposal it will be an absolute discrace! The thing is that Port know there is a chance it will happen because the poorer clubs here in melb need money that badly.
Im not against them playing in Darwin - they can play wherever they want, but make them give up their home games. This is pure arrogance. |

Sounds similar to the proposal I saw on here a couple of months ago, for us to play 2 games a year in Sydney, but still keep our 18 Melbourne games. IIRC, that was considered a good idea. |

I didnt think it was a good idea personally. Its bad enough having to go to Sydney this year let alone going twice in one year.
Darwin doesnt exactly have the perfect climate for the AFL not that this is the main issue anyway.

The whole comp is becoming a joke Interstate teams seem to get what they want when they want. i would love to see collingwood carlton richmond essendon pull out and then see how there precious AFL will last. Is there nothing that intertate teams whinge at if its not final venues its the ground surface. Either all vic clubs pull out or just the heavy weights and restart a new comp and the AFL can have there interstate team comp

Greedy morons.
WHAT IS SO HARD WITH A SIDE, BASED IN A CERTAIN STATE, JUST PLAYING IN THAT STATES?!?!
FFS all we hear about from these interstate clubs is "Wah wah whinge whinge we have to travel, we have to travel" and now they proprose this garbage. Good luck to them.
Why don't they try and control their own rabble in ONE place before descending on another?
