Skills, strength & determination, basis his game style on Hodge, what else could one ask for? |

Seems to have all the attributes: pace, explosiveness, elite skills (rated best kick in the draft by Terry Wallace), an excellent tackler and a great attittude. Given all that, I was surprised he was tipped to be picked between 15 and 20.
Very difficult to compare the different players, but I'd not be disappointed if we took Salem at 6 or 10. If we took him (or another definite mid in say, Freeman) and one of the taller less specialist mids in Bontempelli, Scharenberg, or Lennon it would be a good mix. Picking two of the taller types who may not be certain to ever make it as a permanent mid (none fo the three above have spent a lot of time there), could be a risk.
I think my ideal would be Bontempelli or Scharenberg at 6 and Freeman or Salem at 10 (have the line breaking ability that we seriously lack through the middle, and even more so now that Thomas is gone). Lennon would also be nice, but I thing the mix of a real mid with explosive pace and a taller utility type is a better fit, than two taller utility types. _________________ Well done boys! |

Also stated that he is a big bodied midfielder as well.
Seems to tick all the boxes we require. Pace, elite kicking skills. Will start down back, so maybe he can do the kick out duties, something we have been deplorable at since Leon left. |

Could also be smoke and mirrors with Collingwood trying to mislead the others into thinking who we will take. Who really knows?
Cheers

30% of the players described are similar to Luke Hodge. If it says he is a low down sniper, umpires pet and all round shit bloke, then yeah, the player is similar to Hodge. _________________ Buon Giorno |

Agreed. Always thought that clubs would keep their picks close to their chest so as not to let others know what they are after. Always surprises me that people with impeccable sources know this and that.
With Grundy last year, Hine said it was only near draft time that they got an inkling that Grundy may slide to our pick.
Having said all that I am warming to Salem based on what has been said. |

Wouldn't mind Salem, but it's doubtful we would use 6 on him. Hell, he hasn't even been in the top 10 in most phantoms, would be surprised if he didn't last till 10. |
