I was reading an article last night on my phone (Collingwood app) about the poaching wars both Colingwood and richmond were embroiled in back in 80s which made for very interesting reading.

Two teams playing mind games with each other, hell bent on ruining the other without a care in the world for the impact it was having on their own club. The 'new magpies' in their quest to take anything that wasn't bolted down almost finiancially destroyed Collingwood FC. Even Daic's was approached, thought about it, but decided no in the end because his did talked him out of it.

I wasn't old enough to remember the exact details what happened during those times or why it all happened but it made me appreciate how far we've come since then and that we longer resort to these irresponsible ways of acquiring players. How was this allowed to happen?
