Very Good Case made here by Jon Ralph why Grundy could win the Rising Star.

He is the Best Young Tall who could win the Rising Star

I am so glad we are looking at this young American ruckman. Grundy will not make it! he is the most overrated player in the league right now and this puff piece just proves it.

No, he'd need to be nominated again. Which means that Ralph is jumping the gun somewhat. For once. Wink

Geeze if you were to award points based on a weighted system taking into account the position played and type of role each player is playing/expected to play for the team............There would be no other player close to Grundy.

How many midfielders or players are there in a team that can go through the midfield versus players capable of holding down the number 1 ruck position........as a 19 year old !!!

Also, how much more important to a team is an attacking, creative defender that can also beat a player ?

I know it's a cliche but big blokes do take a lot longer to mature. I've also thought we've got a bit ahead of ourselves at times with Brody cos sometimes I'm not that impressed with elements of his game, however I think because he came with such a rush we forget he's only played a dozen or so games. I don't think we've seen a poofteenth of what he is ultimately capable of yet. The upside is scary. If he doesn't win the RS who cares. He's potentially the best ruck man the AFL has seen since Coxy. Lots want to argue that ruck men are irrelevant (Leigh Matthews for one) but that's only if you haven't got a special one. If you have one that can really influence a game then you have a special one....and I think we have one.
