He and his management had very little choice. The problem is that we have had to pay fortunes to retain Pendles, Swanny and Daisy, which has left us not much for our mid range players. It's the AFL's fault for allowing the Old toasters and the Midgets to inflate player salaries with insanely high offers.

Yep, RB, I agree - I wonder what Dawes thinks about Melbourne offering Mitch Clark the $500K they'd ear-marked for him?

Dawes will make that back in one hit when Clark slips on a wet patch at Woolworths and the big fella represents him.

if we do lose tooves, we need to replace him with a ready made quick back-pocket from one of the state leagues. looking at his highlights, someone like will sierakowski would have been ideal

very very good was the number 34
his great run and sure skills as well as courage at the ball are obvious
but gee he plays taller players well
gets up high to nullify the marking contest then goes from there
great to see him back plying his trade

Go Tooves! But this thread was not one of the bulletin board's finest moments.

Can't believe people were questioning his place in the team. Fair to say he's been a bit rusty since his return and probably will be for the rest of the year but he remains our best and most dependable one on one defender.
