It's not about the odd mistake, we can live with the odd mistake, it's the overall interpretation of the game's rules.
You can tell the ones that never actually played, or were that scared little forward pocket kid that had about 3 kicks in the 5 years they played juniors before turning to officiating.
Just watched the best umpired game I've seen for about 10 years this arvo; and it was a WRFL under 16 match. |
Correct, I said the same thing. "These umpires have no feel for the game" quite a few times. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Before the game the holding the ball rule was displayed on the big screen.
Weird.
Momentum shifting umpiring decisions aplenty. All in West Coast's favour.
Everyone who watched that game knows the umpires favoured the Eagles so obviously and so blatantly. That is why they are saying it was the other way around to try to deflect the attention from the truth.
Anyone who doesn't think the umpires hate our guts after that game is blind or lying. |
Booing them off the ground at the end of the game will help that.... |

Which game were you watching? Obviously it wasn't the Pies V Eagles. |

Definitely not the Pies vs. Eagles game.
Look I know that it is politically incorrect not to bag the umpires and all that but what the AFL authorities don’t understand is that if you consistently continue to ignore incompetence, it only goes to make umpiring worse, not improve it. It is a dead end course.
The inconsistency between the three umpires is so frustrating to spectators; imagine how bad it must be for the players to follow trends with umpiring. |

This is the Herald Sun's take on the umpiring

GRUNDY’S GIFT
IT’S unfortunate one of the games of the year will be remembered — at least by Eagles fans — for a shoddy umpiring decision late in the final term.
With Collingwood clinging to a three-point lead Brodie Grundy marked 55m from goal and copped a hand to the face from Mitch Brown a split-second late.
The umpire blew the whistle and dragged Brown back to the goalsquare, handing Grundy — who has given away plenty of 50m penalties himself this season — an easy goal.
The Eagles rallied again but never regained the lead. |

They rallied really well to still give away the next goal
Yep, they were coming hard for a team that was being run over...

I am still getting annoyed by the holding the ball rule, seems the umpires are still confused as to how they're meant to judge it. Seemed the umpires had a poor one missed many Collingwood frees, awarded a lot to the Eagles. I was thinking there was going to be a riot there it was getting very loud.
umpires have been having a shocker this year though. _________________ Ðavâgé
