Post subject: not enough dangerous players | |
|
Dane Swan is not terrible, but he is a long way off where he used to be. He is no longer a dangerous player for us, and as we don't have many truly dangerous players to begin with, it really hurts us.
I have always been of the opinion that one of Grundy or Witts will eventually make room, but now I am not sure of Jesse White's place.
Time for Martin to get a chance. Blair is not dangerous enough as a forward.
Taylor Adams / Luke Ball - only play one. Would be better served with Kennedy scooting around instead. |

What worries me is that Dwyer, Thomas, Adams, Kennedy and Fasolo are all similar types that make similar mistakes or drift in and out of games.
It seems like every week one of them is in or out and we aren't getting any more output from one or the other. |

Blair is about the most offensively impotent player we have. It's basically playing with a man down. Sure he gets his 5-6 tackles but most of them are in congested pack situations where if he didn't tackle them someone else would have. Have never seen him run down a player to get a turnover. Really have no idea why he seems guaranteed his spot every week. Not like he has any improvement in him either. |

Fasolo is wasted in the vfl , I know he was shit against Melbourne, but we need his class and finishing skills _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

We didn't today because we made the dumb decision of playing Ball, Thomas and Adams together. _________________ Well done boys! |

Fasolo could have been the difference today up forward and nabbed a couple in the dying moments when needed because he's capable of that. Blair on the other hand, is not. |

Very true. Too many players with similar attributes and qualities. |

The dumb decision today was to "rest" Goldsack & Beams.... great work by the coaching staff. |

Ball= never got into the game; I saw him lay a tackle in the 3rd quarter- what else did he do.
Thomas = no problems getting contested ball but generally he's slow and butchers the ball under pressure.
Adams = tries hard but made a couple of errors at critical times; I'm predicting he will improve but he played today like it was a VFL game. |

I'd rather goldsack next week but he would have helped today. What is wrong with Beams? |

We are rebuilding where going to have some good weeks and some bad weeks with a young team, 11 players under 30 games, we will have more dangerous players down the track but not in the short term. |

We're a team of plodders now. We've lost our most exciting players like Davis,Thomas,Wellingham,Didak and Shaw, and there's no obvious replacements for any of them.Elliott is probably the only exciting player we have, and he seems to play a lone hand on the forward line each week. |
