Among the more stupid theories that run riot here is that Collingwood have had injuries due to the training regime at the club. I have tried hard to see the logic or in fact find the evidence for this tripe but to no avail.

Then I got to thinking about our Socceroos. They lost 3-4 players just before the World Cup due to injuries and today have lost Milligan and Franjic due to hamstrings. Maybe they have the very same fitness person as Collingwood?...... Rolling Eyes

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/buckley-says-pies-need-to-be-tougher-against-hawks-20140617-zsaxz.html

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has declared he’s sick of “putting time lines” on when injured players will return because of constant delays.

The Pies have a long list of injured players set to miss this week's clash with Hawthorn, including defender Ben Reid, who nicked his left quad during training last week. Reid had been set to return to the AFL after being sidelined since March.

"It's enormously frustrating for him to have the calf issues. But I'm sick of putting time lines on things because they change, they shift and they evolve depending on the injury and how the player reacts to the recovery," Buckley said.

Injuries can of course be related to a training regime. Interesting that you mention the Socceroos, because one of the expert commentators was today questioning whether our heavy training load had contributed to our injuries. Not being as skilled as our opponents our only chance was to be fitter and more physical, hence the heavy training load and the greater potential for overuse injuries.

At Collingwood? We have had a bad run with injuries for three consecutive years now. Is it bad luck, or is something amiss in our preparation? I couldn't tell you, but I can assure you the club would not just be dismissing it as bad luck, they'd be reviewing their programmes to see if there's anything they can do better.

Yeah stupid theory.

The truth is...NONE of them are actually injured!

Bucks just wants to play kids and rest up all of his experienced senior players.

The only genuine injuries are to Scharenberg and Freeman.

Also, did you know Freeman is Morgan's nephew? Little known fact. As a small child he was an extra in The Shawshank Redemption.

He's also related to Cathy. Now you know why he's so quick Smile

One of the best consecutive posts that were unrelated that I've seen for quite some time. Bravo.
