We might be good at spotting young talent, but we've been absolutely shithouse recruiting mature age guys lately, infact id go as far to say every mature age player we've recruited under Bucks has been a waste.

Young
White
Russel

Let's hope Varcoe and Greenwood pay off. _________________ Defender...........

With MA injury is the elephant in the room but I'll grant that we haven't had rousing success in this area.
Other considerations are availability regarding list requirements and sheer player preference. It's not like the draft where a player's name is called out like at a cattle auction and he's sold.
Having said that we simply haven't secured the healthy and relevent players we needed in recent years.
Certainly an area we can improve upon. |

The difference is that most of the mature age recruits you've mentioned have cost us virtually nothing. And let's not forget the string of has-been Eagles players MM recruited - Rintoul, Cummings, Morrison and Andrew Williams!
I'm pretty excited at our recent recruits from other clubs - Adams, Varcoe, Greenwood and Crisp. Furthermore, I still expect White to prove to be a good player for us. Time will tell. |

Sometimes the future is here now Dave.
You reckon we would have won 2010 without Ball, jolly and Brown? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

We might of won it without Brown but Probably not Ball and Jolly.
But when these old guys retire who will Hawthorn have Left? _________________ I am Da Man |

They'll return to the bottom of the ladder for a few years before winning a couple more premierships, it's just what they do. _________________ Defender...........

Underestimate both the Hawks and Geelong at your peril DTM. These teams have been very good at a number of levels and I am sure you will see them there about for years to come. We have certainly not done as well as these teams but have do much better than many others. |

I think you're being harsh on some of those.
Guerra, Gibson, Hale, Burgoyne and Gunston have all been major wins.
Dew swung the 08 flag in there favour.
Lake is a Norm Smith medalist.
Frawley should thrive at such a strong team and strengthens there weakest line.
McEvoy is a strong old fashioned ruckman who's likely to grab back the No.1 ruck mantle this season.
O'Rourke might yet prove to be another Gunston like steal.
It's fair to say when it comes to recycled players they're the best in the business and the targeting of Gunston just a couple of years in the system was genius as his talent was obvious in his last game for Adelaide (what were they thinking?)
I just hope O'Rourke doesn't live up to the hype of being worthy of a No.2 pick. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |
