I wasn't suggesting they were changed or unchanged, merely that they are the rules for this season. _________________ All We Can Be |

As Defender so clearly put it: you are wrong. You have misread the rule; and yes I have seen many cases where a 50 hasn't been paid when a player follows their opponent through the space between the mark and the player taking the kick. |

Rule 16.1.2 defines the "protected area" as a corridor starting at the mark, and extending to 5m behind the player taking the kick.
So running across the mark is covered as "entering the protected area". So you can do it provided you are within 5m of your opponent. |

The one that gets me is the one where the player on the mark
starts deviating off his mark at a 45 degree angle towards the player with the ball. If you draw a line parallel to the man on the mark he is clearly over the mark. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

I agree. They should make it the rule that you have to stand on the mark. You can't move off it. Not a metre or 5 either side in an arc but stand directly on the mark. |
