as for bucks' media performances, granted they are superb but none of that helps with the direct development and performance of the team. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

I don't know about that. Consider Malthouse's comment to the media earlier this year - something along the lines of "there's not a game this year Carlton can't win". And Eade's comment that the Suns can't make finals this year.
Now think about how those team's have performed, and how much disunity there is within.
Buckley is a very polished media performer and only says things that will generate a headline when he decides what that story will be - not the journos. |

malthouse's comment was such a throw away line. i am surprised anyone would or did take it seriously. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

I'm pretty sure the Carlton players took it seriously and thought WTF.
Any coach saying something like that under the pressure of media questioning risks not only making fool of himself but unsettling the team he is coaching to win. |

I'd be surprised if the media persona that he projects and the philosophy of life, maturation and competition that he expresses in public, is very different from how he conducts himself with the team, though the content of what he says may be different. I think that's highly relevant to his capacity to motivate, inspire and develop players as a coach. _________________ Two more flags before I die!

Bucks media performances are a reflection of the man and the way he coaches - a consummate total professional. |

The Good:
The Development of Grundy ,Elliot, Broomhead, Crisp, Oxley, Adams , Williams and Ramsay
strong belief and a happier looking squad.
better skills.
He has a fitter squad to work with.
His stare at humanoid 'Robbo' makes me laugh.
The Bad:
Frost on Hawkins when Brown was available. The move was too late.
Still too many handballs in game plan at times. we aint the handbaggers.
Armstrong getting a game against the tuggers when not earned. Marsh should have been given a tick tack! _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

^ Hindsight is great 3rd. Ok, maybe the Armstrong one was obvious.
But how do any of us know if Bucks' intention was to see what any of those two could do? Develop the player and give them a match against opposition that will make them work above their level.
Better to get that answer now than at the pointy end of the season. _________________ Go Pies! |

A good ordinary winger who went from Collingwood to Fitzroy. Played some OK games for both clubs. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |
