Ed had a spiteful verbal slouch with Hiss at the AGM in the heat of the 2011/12 Summer, and vowed to never return. |

Password issues IIRC. He doesn't spend a lot of time sitting at a single computer. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

That's total crap! I have had my differences with Ed, but reckon he is the best President in the AFL. We are very lucky to have him. His passion and commitment to our Club are undeniable. I fully support Ed and Gary.
He may not come on here because of people like you who frequently talk utter crap and attempt to slag people off like some childish fool.
I just hope our success in 2016 has you banished from this Board and our Club. _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

Oh God,
Like some old time TV hack who keeps
bobbing up on boring day time TV.
Old Hiss digs himself up to throw his pearls of wisdom
to the swine.
Go get a new modern character Hiss! _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Like many on here, i really like ed, but i just think he should consider passing on the baton as President in the not too distant future, the job is not his for life, and may be time to give someone like craig kelly a go. Just my opinion, for what its worth. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

The foul smell of treason I sniff! Replacing one of the best Presidents we have ever had with who? I mean fair dinkum! Compulsory voting is wrecking Australia. Freedom of expression is wrecking Collingwood. If you don't support your President, you should go and support Hawthorn. _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

I certainly would not like to see Ed go. He is a very good manager and leader. He still has momentum. The recent task he has almost completed in upgrading the Holden centre is nothing short of fantastic. People of Ed's exceptional abilities are not common place. If that was the case all clubs would have an effective and progressive predident. Unfortunately there are few to go around and we should keep the one we have whilst he is still driven and contributing in such a positive and constructive manner. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

There is an old saying that "one never appreciates what you got until it’s gone". I have found this to be very true in my life, especially regarding my father who passed away suddenly many years ago. This saying is apt for Eddie. If he goes, 10 bloody Craig Kelly's wont be able to fill the breach and the club will lose in many ways as a result. Eddie must stay on for as long as HE wants to. Nothing else will do for the best for Collingwood. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. I don't believe in Presidents for Life.
He should leave and maybe come back for reelection sometime in the future.
His captains pick on Buckley will be either be a genius selection or a dud pick. The next 2 years will tell. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

First. If you are going to run a poll to roll me as president at least get the spelling of my name right!!!!
Second. Don't hang me for something we haven't even commented about.
Third. Please remember I actually barrack for Collingwood.
Fourth. Relax, don't panic, I do everything possible for the positive enhancement of our club and membership. Remember we did do the deal at the MCG, 18 games in Melbourne etc.
Five. Trust me.
When we have something to say we will. At the moment people are speculating on a private meeting. There is nothing to report.
Six. I finally worked out my password! Happy to correspond either through myself posting or Eugene.
We read these forums daily. Some of the stuff is funny, some alarming, some stupid, some inspired but always passionate.
Don't ever forget all of us on the board and in management absolutely love our club. Love our members who we see as family members not inconveniences. We hear everything you say and we decide what is the best way forward.
Sometimes the things we do may not be obvious at first glance and I'm happy for people to challenge or question decisions or directions we are taking but remember everyone is doing the best that can be done.
No one wants a premiership more than me, plenty want it as much.
We all want our club to be the biggest, best and happiest. I make every decision through the eyes of a supporter.
Don't get yourselves all revved up about standing up and carrying on at the AGM. Ask through here, come to the AGM put your questions in a manner conducive of the event and have a chat over a drink at the bar after the event.
Remember the politicians are up on Saturday not at the Collingwood AGM.
Stay safe.
Floreat Pica.

It's almost like ground hog day, Eddie comes in and corrects the mistake of appointing a favourite Son as coach, as a result we flourish, then he goes on to make the very same mistake his predecessor made, now we're back to square one. _________________ Defender...........

I didn’t read the whole ten pages of embarrassing sycophancy, just the first couple. Lots of interesting news about memberships, away games, perks for us, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Frankly my dear... I care about ONE thing and ONE thing only when it comes to the Collingwood Magpies. I care about Collingwood being a club NO ONE wants to play against. I care about knowing that the 22 guys wearing the jumper will be damn hard to beat each & every time.
In 2011 I finally got a taste of what that is like. Knowing, without even worrying about it, that whoever the oppo was they would have to play extremely well to be there at the end.
I truly believe Eddie has been the best Prez I've seen at Collingwood. The best thing he did for Collingwood was bringing Malthouse over. The worst thing he did was dumping a coach who had won the last two minor Premierships - the first time we'd done so since at least the 70s, probably the 20's. Especially for a total novice who hadn't coached so much as the North Dandenong under 12s. To do this because of 'contracts' was ridiculous!
Now that experiment has been shown to be a total failure it's time to face reality. Buckley simply isn't a coach. Send him elsewhere as an assistant and maybe in 5 years, who knows, but anyone who takes the top side and sees them fall lower every year, to the point where we are serious contenders for a third spoon, is utterly incompetent, despite what he himself thinks.
How many pages did you read while here Ed? Or did you dictate a post for someone less busy to put up? I'm very happy for you to stay on as President, but if you let this nightmare go on for another week, then I no longer believe that you care more for Collingwood than for your position.
We need a Thompson, Clarkson or Roos, but if you can't get them, coach the tam yourself, you couldn’t do worse! Hell, I could do better! Again, I couldn’t do worse.
If we end up with a club with guys like Pendles, Steelo, Taylor, Adz, and Faz, and the rest, who finish last, I will not forgive you. I hope you really did read some pages here. I would be more than happy to discuss these things with you or with Buckley any time, day or night! _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

PS: THIS is the time we needed to be making hay! While our two major rivals for flags were basket cases for breaking the rules. Instead were a basket case too, except we did it to ourselves!!!!
