The fact that a handful of young players have only improved under Buckley highlight why he isn't a senior coach. He is a good development coach but he has no business being a senior one.
Ask yourself, how many senior players have got better under Buckley. It's very scarce. |
I don't think he is a good development coach at all.
Nor a good senior one.
So I am to the left of you
That must put me back and beyond Trollsville.

Buckley is best suited IMV as an assistant or a development type coach. But he has no business being a senior one.
Coaching is about tactics to a degree. If you have extensive setups below you, the tactic nous of a coach sometimes isn't the main factor.
But coaching is about psychology. It's getting the best out of players with contrasting personalities. It's about moulded silent, loud, eccentric and other types into one common cause.
I once had the displeasure of sitting next to Nathan and his father when they were watching a VFL game. Their behaviours shocked me. The dad was yelling abuse at individual players when they made a mistake and Nathan just sat there shaking his head at those players.
People have been sucked into Nathan's public speaking skills when assessing him as a coach. |

Mr Courtza
If you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen.
Fact vs opinion has really been thrown about when confronting the newbie.
You listen to too many lollipop men.
I bet you are another who believes he is a troll.
Except none of you have any evidence whatsoever and all the circumstantial evidence suggest otherwise.
So keep following the sheep and sprout their crap lines. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Hey Thomsoc I dont reckon the newbie is a troll he just seems to know more about Buckley and our players than they do themselves.
As far as lollipops and all that shit is concerned I'm on neither side, I would have never selected Bucks as coach in the first place.
Its just the majority of crap seems to be coming from the negative. |

fair comment and thanks for being reasonable.
Definitively the sad saacks have been pumping the club big time
but the lollipopers have lead the personal attack. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

He's a mischievous old bugger, isn't he?
The three best additions, and the cream on the cake, in 2010 and 2011, were Krakouer, Ball and Jolly. Ball and Jolly were the difference that brought home the flag in 2010, Krak set us alight in 2011. That was an awesome side.
In 2012 Ball and the Krakouer had season ending knee injuries. On top of that Tarrant only played 12, Didak 11 and Ben Johnson 8.
In 2013 Dale Thomas managed 5, Darren Jolly 9, Krakouer 8, Didak 5, Toovey 5, Ben Johnson 3 and recruit Clinton Young only 2 (he'd played 20 games for Hawthorn in 2012, the bastard ).
On top of injuries there were changes in the way footy was being played, our press had already been effectively countered and we were about to lose a key group of seasoned players to retirement.
The writing was on the wall,
The window on the 'dynasty' Mick is talking was already closing when he got the boot. |

We had a younger core than Hawthorn & Geelong in 2011.
The only thing that stopped multiple flags was the football department failing to add experienced and quality recruits like those two above clubs did.
Hawthorn added the likes of Gunston, McEvoy, Gibson & the like. We added Jordan Russell, Lynch & Clinton Young.
When you have a young and strong core, all you have to do is top up in the areas where your list has a hole/s.

If the constant insulting of the Club, it's coaches and players isn't evidence of being a troll, then I don't know what could possibly be.
'Circumstantial evidence'? Do you mean your wild guesses that Jez07 is, laughably, a past player or journalist?
Oh dear. |

The injuries/circumstances are fact. It's my opinion that we couldn't hope to win a flag with that level of injuries to key players, key players that made it possible for us to win the flag in the first place.
The argument that 'injuries don't matter, they're just an excuse' is patently silly. By that logic the only difference between Essendon and North at the moment is down to coaching and structures.
