From what I've seen of the 25 man squad, I would say that Oxley is competing with Marsh for a spot in the 22 while Goodyear is competing with Macaffer. I would say Witts has only been named as emergency for one of the talls if they don't come up. |

Oxley's main asset is that he's a great mark, but he is a bit slow and his field kicking can be a bit dicey. Howe's great form intercepting in defence has put pressure on Oxley's spot and you are right that Marsh could be a handy inclusion to replace him. |

An experienced player like Cloke should have been causing carnage in the VFL. |
I disagree. Factor in the reduced quality of the footy and I'd have them on a par. If it was easier we'd have seen guys like Crocker, Moore, Cox, White etc all regularly kicking big bags making them impossible to leave out of the senior team which just doesn't happen. Don't see why we should expect Cloke to. Who was the last forward at VFL level who regularly and routinely kicked bags of goals for us? |
Still apples and oranges. Cloke's career is that of an old school power forward - stand somewhere inside 50, take contested marks and covert to goal. That's mainly why Cloke has been in the team all these years. Cox and Crocker are not power forwards. They do a lot of other stuff really well apart from kicking goals. |
So only power forwards can take marks and kick bags of goals? |

Goodyear would be even more so if he doesn't make the final 22 and Caff gets a run ahead of him..

I'm guessing, Witts, Caff and Oxley or Goodyear will miss.
I hope Maynard holds his spot. |

Goodyear even more so. |
Aish hasn't done near enough in the VFL to warrant a recall, while Goodyear may very well get a game. |

??
What are you talking about? Where in this thread I've said Cloke should kick a bag of goals.
You've got me confused with someone else. |

I'd say he will. I thought he had an ordinary game last week, but watching it again last night (this time without being distracted) I realise that I was wrong. He was solid, made it to a lot of contests to provide a physical presence, and I'm pretty sure he'll stay. He is improving slowly week on week and beginning to look as though he belongs out there.
Oxley might be in doubt - he was ordinary. But Maynard should be fine. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Still a strong side, should win comfortably if we bring our recent effort, Pies by over 39.5. _________________ Defender...........
