It means he will almost certainly push through the 20-year-barrier as president and will stay in the role until at least the start of the 2020 season. |
He is set to become the seventh man in VFL-AFL history to be president of a club for 20 years. |

I suspect he's the only one in AFL history though... _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Collingwood is nothing more than an old boys club full of mates looking after their mates by giving them jobs without going through a proper and independent selection process. A perfect example of that was the return of Grubby Allen and the failed succession plan. Typical Eddie trying to please everyone and keep them all happy. He's got his hand in every pie; netball, aflw or some other scheme, and when he's not doing that he's busy insulting and/or offending people. He reminds me of a dictator who refuses to relinquish control. He's done his time and we need a fresh approach. Someone with new ideas and a fresh business perspective who can take us forward. 20 years as a president is ridiculous. |

Look at the other 'big' clubs... Essendon now have Lindsay Tanner. Geelong had Frank Costa now Colin Carter. Hawthorn have Richard Garvey. Richmond have Peggy O'neal.
The common link is all of these clubs have turned over the President's position some forced ah la Essendon, Some like Hawthorn and Kennett just parted ways.
Surely as the biggest club in the land we must some some brilliant business minds out there. Why are they not queuing up for the job/jobs?
If Bucks goes, surely we would want to demand the club has a full refresh of the board and president. get some new blood with new ideas. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Ive always been a big fan of Ed. However, if he cant see the obvious damage thats Bucks is doing then maybe I have to change my mind. He almost seems more focused on having a netball team and a womens team. |

Maybe they see it as a thankless task?
Haven't got the time or inclination?
Although if people are serious, feel strongly enough about the need for change and support the club they would find a way, the same as Eddie did when he first came on board. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

Some of the folk here might like to get acquainted with the CFC constitution.
There has not been a contested election in over a decade.
Democratic process has been eroded to the point of being non-existent.
There was a always going to be a price to be paid for allowing the cult of personality Ed constructed around his presidency. _________________ Join the KOA at www.facebook.com/groups/knightsofabbotsford |

Where there is a will there is a way.
It would just take a lot of hard unpaid work which most people seem not to be bothered with these days. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |
