He'll probably make up his mind in 3 weeks after we smash em.
Aim for premierships then chase the mula. He's still young, if he plays it smart he'll have success and the millions. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Despite the mammoth offer, I still have a feeling he will stay with us but his manager is trying to squeeze more money out of us.
Wouldn't surprise me if Ben Niall (De Goey's manager) leaked out the story to his brother, Jake Niall and before you know it it's splashed all over the major newspapers. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

^ Oh, are they brothers?? Jake is a Pies supporter, though. Maybe Ben started as one and because of his "difficult" past clients is no longer one.

Tim Watson says they'll be crossing live to Collingwood after the break. To discuss Collingwoods fight to keep De Goey. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I'm also feeling like those offers will be seriously looked at.
But Collingwood wont take it lying down. If we trade, we'll get something very good in return and it'll open the door to chasing Lynch and/or Gaff in free agency. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

The other thing that is of note, is that DeGoey and Moore are very close friends and were drafted out of the same TAC team together.
Interesting that both may be looking to leave. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

My mail is that De Goey is happy at Collingwood but may well be tempted by a massive financial offer from elsewhere, whereas Moore's issues are more personal, not money related.
We must ensure we keep De Goey, while I could accept Moore's departure, if he doesn't want to remain with us. |

Says who? How do we fit Lynch in then? I’d keep JDG and Darce and stay away from Lynch. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Tim Browne (Ch7) reported that he thinks DeGoey will stay at Collingwood but they cant match the offers made by Saints and Roos. Partly because of the Wells and Mayne deals...
Then he said Collingwood is the front runner for Lynch and are also going after Steven May from the Suns too... _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Do a lot of people think DeGoey will stay at Collingwood but they can not match the offers made by Saints and Roos? |

If he does want to go we should try and make it the blue baggers he goes to. They would be happy to pay what him what he wants and they have the number 1 pick and Murphy a ready made midfielder to cover him til the no1 pick player gets going. Then we might have the cash to retain Moore and lure Lynch.
Just a thought but would prefer him to stay. $1m a year is going to be hard to beat and we don't want to rock the boat too much to keep him. _________________ Go Pies! |

By all the speculation I’ve seen regarding Wells contract he hasn’t triggered a third year. That’s a pretty easy decision for the club as he plays for what we can afford after higher priorities or he goes to FA or retires.
I also reckon that Mayne would now likely be open to renegotiating his contract as part of an extension.
The inconsistent media speculation that we can somehow afford May and Lynch, but not De Goey seems odd indeed.
Ultimately it will come down to choices and how we assess relative worth. _________________ All We Can Be |
