The 8 is going to be tight, destiny in our own hands. To be where we are with injuries we have is a great effort. Biggest scrutiny needs to on the recurrance of injuries, is it just player related (some people are just injury prone), is it conditioning team, rehab team, training ground or are we really just so unlucky. If we make finals this season is an absolute success |

Your kidding yourself. Watch the game again. |
No thanks. But don’t make out like he’s infallible. For every good thing he does he (mates with) his fair share too. Flies for mark on the wing, ball spills over the back, kick forward to Buddy - goal.
A smarter defender and better player either takes the mark or kills the contest. He makes these decision errors too regularly and it costs us _________________ http://youtu.be/hvtdbfI1sqQ |

Sick of the injuries. Sick of the same players breaking down.
Moore shouldn't play again until he can survive 4 or 5 vfl games.
It is just gutting not to see our best player perform. Over it. |

Well done to Grundy, Tay, Murray, Varcoe, Sier, Greenwood and the wonderful WHE.
For some reason, Pendles couldn't kick tonight and Sidey only really got going in the last quarter. |
Exactly.
We will bounce back next week, we should get Goey back and Howe. We will kill em.
So we might not make top 4, who knows, it’s still wide open. $£$%^%%$ hell some of you, we played the ladder leader a week ago, and ran them almost to the end, and now travelling to a ground that has the biggest home ground advantage there is, and our fifth pick defender had to play on a firing buddy. wash your mouths out. Take a breath. Last year we were all in shock that our coach got more time, and here we are, we will make finals. Some really disgusting comments in the last pages of the game thread, and in here.
No one player cost this game. Not Sidey, not cox, not Buckley. 2 $£$%^%%$ points. That’s home ground advantage right there .
Go Pies, I’m standing side by side, and I’ll be there next week when we kick Brisbane back to the boon docks. |
Well said TP, spot on, the voice of calm, logic, and reason. This side has guts to burn, against all the odds, im proud we pushed those swan ponces, so far tonight, only their home pissing ground got them the points, we gave it everthing we had. Im with you, side by side, for the long haul, back our boys in all the fckuing way, all the way, next week and beyond. |
Cheers mate, Im outta her for now, some in this thread are doing what they all said during the fame thread, doing my head in!

If we win 1 or 2 more for the season we will probably finish 6th or 7th. Hopefully 7th then we get a much more favorable draw next year. Time to think big picture, this season is stuffed, let's face the harsh reality. We are the walking wounded and finals will sort us out. Losing to a garbage outfit tonight is evidence of that.
It's been a great year overall. Try to remember what your expectations of the season were at Round 1. Mine was to win 13 games, make the finals and what happens happens. So, I think we will achieve that. I really think that with just a 30% improvement in injuries next season we will be premiers. This team (although overheated tonight) plays footy the right way. Add all the cream back in and we will be the team to beat in 2019. _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

A brave loss by a very undermanned team. How they have remained competative with the number of top players injured defies logic.
Still very proud of the boys and their guts and determination to play it out to the end. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

Season was on the line for the swanettes tonight, they had to win, yet we, despite a make shift team, our defence decomated, nearly pulled it off, against all odds. Had de goey or howe played, Moore not hurt, we win, simple as that. Im proud how the boys fought it out, to the end, hell, we nearly pinched it. I just want to make finlas, win I final, then build on it for next season, that's about the best we can hope for now, with our mass of injuries. I see a lot of positives in this team, a lot of positives for the future, this season and beyond. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

It's a bugar isn't it MM. I want to scream at the footy gods about them being so unfair, but in those often used words "it is, what it is".
If we can stay in the eight and get Treloar, Howe, JDG, even Goldy back in a few week's time, it will still be a very creditable season and a big step in the right direction. .
I'd like to Sier stay in if possible - I noticed on a couple of occasions tonight, that his big body prevailed in some ground ball contests and he disposes of the ball pretty well.
Sadly, Callum Brown didn't have a good game, but young Daics did some good things. He is courageous for a smaller man and has a good footy brain I reckon. Add Stephenson to the mix and we've at least gained match experience for some future possible stars. |

Not alarmed by the under-9 level disposal standard at all? |
Not at all i thought it was a hard fought game ...Sydney are no bottom eight side.
Yep we made mistakes, but given our situation I can't actually think of the last match in which we have finished with four on the bench, i actually felt they played brilliantly. |
You must be easily pleased by that pathetic goal-less 3rd quarter then.
I had to turn it off at 3/4-time before I had a total melt-down.
Sydney are a shit side, who were beaten by an even worse team in the GCS at the SCG. That sums it up for me. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

No run and carry that's split open opposition teams like we've become used to seeing. We never looked likely after half time. Losing Moore didn't help and that 3rd quarter was deplorable. Inaccurate kicking combined with an ineffective midfield and dysfunctional forward line and we were always going to be up against it. The coke muncher had a field day with a little help from the yellow maggots and a bloke who hasn't played for 6 yrs probably had more possessions than our midfield combined we were that bad. |
Meh, we were playing with about six players that should have been in the reserves against an AFL Frankenstein side that was desperate to win on its uniquely hard to play home ground. It was a brave effort, and some days it just doesn't go your way. |

Daics was good in the first half, non existent in the second. Rowdy junior was poor, as was Stephenson.
People being hard on Mayne, he is very smart in close and did a lot of good things.
I thought Sidey was shocking tonight. Twice with the ball he blazed away at critical moments without thinking, and several terrible handballs. _________________ Buon Giorno |

The problem is that we've had an injury profile like this for years, how can we assume that next year will be any different? |
