AFL are on edge due to recent covid outbreaks they are very concerned and high level meetings to be held tomorrow and Monday. There are clusters in Brisbane and Gold Coast. The seasons in the balance methinks.

Good, I’m sick of seeing that smug QLD premier smirking about getting the GF when the majority of Qld couldn’t give a stuff about AFL. Meanwhile traditional footy states SA and WA are almost covid free, WA especially.

That’s very gracious of you. The Qld Govt has basically facilitated the entire comp this year. Without them and us, then there’d be no footy. Us up here are really looking forward to hosting the GF should it happen and it’s the least the AFL could do. And while we’re talking smug, what about you Vics who’ve locked the GF to Melbourne until 2058. It’s not the VFL. It’s the national league and the GF should be played out of Melbourne in the same proportion as there are non-Vic teams to Vic teams in the comp. That would be about 50%.

watch the Brisbane Lions and St Kilda game right now....

the lower deck completely open for Lions supporters....look how close to the players they are.

When its 2 non QLD teams at the gabba the whole lower deck of the stadium is unavailable, and the supporters have to Squash into the upper deck.

How is one Teams supporters less of a risk then others? oh right there not...its just AFL and government bullshit that makes no sense!

Queensland deserves it, considering they've done the heavy lifting to keep the competition going.

Plus, it would be funny seeing Western Australians throw a tantrum about not being able to host the Grand Final as they have done for many years.

The answer is a no brainer. Play it in Darwin. That ground is superb, and there won't be much of a crowd anyway.

Should be at WA.

It's a much better ground and it doesn't have the cricket pitch in the middle. The dimensions are the same as the G and the stadium is magnificent.

The true footy states - VIC, SA and WA have drop in pitches. QLD and NSW don't. That says it all really.

And aren’t the MCG wickets awesome in cricket season? By your logic, the Boxing Day test should be played every year in a “true cricket” state.
