We let's look at this in perspective; if we open the url, we find a certain much-maligned Pies ruckman come in at $975K.
This places him at 5th spot between P.Cripps, and Dangerflog.
He is our only player in the list of 25; although Treloar would have been included had the AFL not pulled the trigger with us.
However, for all we know places 26-50 may feature players on very similar money, north of $800K; so our sample group is not total ideal.
We'd presume these are the ones that put the strain on a club's salary cap?
And not so much the players on $500-600K?
The breakdown of this list, if we are to believe it's accuracy, is disturbing...
GWS have 4 players listed
Carlton 3
The clubs below have 2 nominees:
Geelong [salary cap exempt obviously]
Hawthorn
Sydney
Melbourne
Western Bulldogs [Treloar*]
The clubs below have 1 nominee:
West Coast
Richmond
Fremantle
Adelaide
St Kilda
Brisbane
Port Adelaide
The clubs without a nominee:
Essendon [pretty sure Shiel, Smith and Stringer aren't playing for free...]
North
GCS
And the AFL instructs us to shed players? Seriously...
I better see some carnage across other clubs by the time list lodgements are in by this October; or we know the fix is in against us. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |
