‘I have already been vaccinated:’ Dominic Thiem eyes off the Australian Open
https://www.theage.com.au/sport/tennis/i-have-already-been-vaccinated-dominic-thiem-eyes-off-the-australian-open-20211103-p595nz.html
"Amid a stoush between the federal and Victorian state governments over entry requirements into Australia - set to impact unvaccinated tennis stars who want to take part in the Australian tennis summer - Thiem said there was never any doubt about him getting the jab.
...
The almost certain presence at the Australian Open of Nadal ... adds to the intrigue of whether world No.1 Djokovic comes to Australia.
...
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews last week shut the door on unvaccinated tennis stars playing the Australian Open, saying unequivocally that the state would not be applying for an exemption allowing them to do so.
The political argy-bargy went up a notch when Prime Minister Scott Morrison indicated that unvaccinated tennis stars could be cleared to play once they had completed quarantine - a stance that contradicted information previously given by immigration minister Alex Hawke, who said double-jab requirements applied to all visitors to Australia, and no exceptions existed for tennis players." |

Well, I for one won't be too devastated if Novak doesn't play.
It will be a shame not to have the world number one here, but offsetting that it gives someone else a chance to win the thing!! |

Aha! It's the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Thanks, Donny.
Looks like Janssen is the pharma company owned by Johnson & Johnson:

I'll be disappointed if Novak doesn't play.
Has a great opportunity to surpass Federer and Nadal in the slam tally and win a record 10th Australian Open. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Yep Jezza, which is another reason why it won't bother me if he's not there!
I feel enormously privileged to have seen the careers of Fed, Rafa and Novak unfold - all of them such incredible, once in a lifetime tennis players. It would be fitting I reckon if they all finished their careers on the same number of Grand Slams. However, Novak will probably overtake Fed and Nadal at some point - just not yet though. |

^ Well said.
When all is said and done, we'll be lucky to have witnessed arguably the three greatest players to play together in the same era. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Some Sydney tournament says Djokovic is confirmed to play there...
Does that mean he's confirmed for the AO too? |
