Mason averages a goal every 4 kicks, over his career. It's a pity we can't get him 12 kicks a game.
Cox - goal every 4.14 kicks
A Rocca - goal every 4.41 kicks _________________ Get back on top. |

I applaud Cox for giving the eyeware a chance.
If he feels more confident attacking the ball and it improves his vision, then the club can only be better for it.
Last bloke I remember who wore them regularly was Geoff Blethyn. Have I missed anyone ? |

As a kid growing up in Essendon I remember going to a game at Windy Hill where Blethyn took about 4 great marks. A couple were mark of the year contenders from memory. I don't remember the year and I can't find much video online but I think it must have been late 60s early 70s _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

That time line is about right. He was a good player and remained their spearhead for a number of years. The VFL / AFL players who adorned glasses ( Tony Southcombe was a good get ) and helmets sit alongside each other with equal standing at any sports trivia night.
I imagine it will be great for Cox confidence, if nothing else. I could completely understand anyones apprehension returning back to a game that nearly cost him his eyesight a year earlier. Those players who come back after losing a kidney and risk being on dialysis for the rest of their lives are in a league of their own for courage ( McKenna, Newman, Lonergan etc ) |
