just looking at the draft NBA draft projections, and Alex is not on there (of course). The first three guys are French (no 1 is playing with Perth Wildcats at the moment). There are literally 100s of really tall guys playing basketball all around the worldatm, so i don't think he has much chance getting to the NBA.
His choice will be between AFL or playing lower tier basketball around the world. They don't necessarily cancel each other out. If he doesn't make it in AFL, he can go back to basketball |

BASKETBALLER WITH PIES
LIKELY future Category B rookie Alex Condon has this week spent time with Collingwood while the 212cm basketball talent is in Melbourne.
Condon last year nominated the Magpies as his preferred club as a Category B rookie when he becomes eligible after a number of clubs chased his signature.
The West Australian last year accepted a scholarship with the University of Florida for his basketball talents but made an agreement with the Magpies to join them as a Category B rookie if he leaves behind his basketball hopes.
His three-year period without playing any football, which is the category B requirements, ends in August this year, meaning he could sign with Collingwood from that point onwards and potentially still head back to the US to continue his college basketball career.
Condon projected as a likely early pick at the 2022 AFL draft after featuring for Western Australia's under-18 side in 2021 at the under-18 championships. – Callum Twomey

Good to see Collingwood maintaining good connections with Alex Condon.
He was a guest at Collingwood this week. Apparently, he can sign with us as a Category B Rookie in August, and still return to the US to continue his attempt at an NBL career. Presumably, depending on how things turn out, he could play for us some time in 2025. At 212 cms, with elite athleticism, with successful u18 footy experience behind him, he could be an outstanding addition to our squad. There's still a lot of 'ifs' and 'buts' involved, but the fact he was at our training headquarters this week, gives me hope that the wheels are being put in motion to welcome him on board sooner rather than later.

This is very promising news. Collingwood are proving that with good administrative planning they can continue to develop our playing list talent dispite the restrictions imposed by the draft. Securing Alex Condon, and recent additions Will Parker, adds the talent pool required to keep the Magpies in contention for a few more years. Throw in a couple of free agents such as Bailey Smith and Hugh McCluggage and our premiership window will weird open for the next 4 years. _________________ Collingwood Domination. * J Stephenson
* O Henry
* C Poulter

Geebus H Christ, 7 foot 9?
A standard ceiling height is 2400mm, only 4cm higher than him. He'd be dodging all the light fittings in a normal house and doorways would be at shoulder height.
Certainly be worthwhile contacting his agent. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
