Post subject: Another win for the pies...we got TAC | |
|
Great work, and forward thinking by the pies, although the moronic sections of the public would disagree (then again, they're not pies, so they got no clue anyway). Congrats to those responsible. Does this mean its a two for one deal, meaning we get the dough that Richmond were budgeting on?

Bloody idiots on notice at Magpies
By ANDREW HEASLEY
TRANSPORT REPORTER
Wednesday 6 February 2002
Collingwood Football Club has issued pocket-size breathalysers and taxi charge cards to its players and staff after signing a new three-year sponsorship deal with Victoria's Transport Accident Commission.
The club's move against drink driving follows a series of incidents involving high-profile players at other clubs including Geelong's Ronnie Burns and Richmond's Royce Vardy.
Collingwood president Eddie McGuire said there would be "no excuses" for any players who broke road laws and embarrassed the club and its new sponsor.
The sponsorship deal coincided with the TAC's latest shock advert aimed at speeding drivers. It is an extension of the TAC's "Wipe off 5" message and carries the line: "Sit down and think what speeding - even a little speeding - can do."
It's the 94th commercial by Grey Worldwide, the advertising agency that has been making TAC commercials since the first shock-tactic ads in 1989.

Research by Monash University's Accident Research Centre found small speed reductions can mean the difference between fatalities and minor injuries.
Centre director Dr Ian Johnston said a car travelling at 60 kmh took 45 metres to stop. Yet a car travelling just five kilometres faster would still be clocking 32 kmh at the 45 metre mark.

Apparently Richmond will be changing sponsor and theme song.
Oh we're from LiquorLand,
Were pissed as maggots,
We're from LiquorLand,
In any weather you'll see a drunken grin
Skulling pints of gin
If its your shout then never doubt
We drink like we've grown fins
For we're from LiquorLand
We never weaken till the final drop has gone
Like the tigers of old
We'll soon be extinct
For we're from Liquor(metho and gin)
We're from LiquorLand.
Any year we beat Carlton is a good year |

BLOODY well done in getting TAC as a sponsor. It is a feather in Eddies cap as well as the sponsorship committee.
After seeing the news today about all these kids pinching cars and having prangs,a few of them ought to go and learn how to drive and see movies on dead people who dont believe that drinking kills?????.
Any GREAT to see them with the MIGHTY PIES

How sweet it is!
Richscum TAC sponsorship = $750,000 p.a.
Collingwood TAC sponsorship = $1,200,000 p.a.
We've beat them at this level, now we'll cream 'em in the season opener.
-Craig
P.S. For their dollars TAC only get our jumper for 11 rounds, they get the 'scums for 22!
That values Richscums jumper at $34,091 per round
Collingwoods jumper?? $$109,091 per round!!!!
Approx 3.2 times as valuable.....I reckon the TAC are getting a bargain off us!
Welcome to 2002! The year of the MAGPIES! |

Craig calculated:

Methinks that our jumper is still under valued... like if Richmo's jumper is worth $34,091 then our jumper must be worth at least a million. Like think about it... $34,000 for richmos jumper.... puh-leaaase.
Go Pies! You are doing us proud.
