Someone deserves to be attacked by a group of cowards for a slip of the tongue that had absolutely nothing to do with them and almost certainly wasn't the motivation for the attack anyway? Get real - didn't your mother ever teach you that two wrongs don't make a right? |

So you swallow the "slip of the tongue" routine do you?
You must be younger and less experienced than I ever gave you credit.
Ingrained racists make "slips of the tongue" comments.
Not decent human beings. |

Ok lets assume you are right and he is a racist (even though I don't agree - he certainly isn't openly a racist and has tried to apologies for his mistakes).
Does that then justify groups of youths from going out and attacking him and his family? Does that mean that he is no longer entitled to feel safe in the streets? Are you saying the answer to dealing with a racist is to condone violence upon them? It surprises me that someone so experienced, mature and wise as you are profess to be could hold such an archaic opinion. |

It's called "Karma"

Ok so when you said "he deserves everything he gets" what you actually meant was “he deserved this one thing” and now that the universe is balanced he does not deserve any further violence? Kinda backpedaling aren’t you? |

Nicely put Dave.
Why should such a racist be so important? |

It is apparently not uncommon for this to occur in BB - not newsworthy until a celeb is the victim
And good call Dave |

Thats because bombings going on around the world is a lot more common than Rex Hunt being beaten up by a gang of lunatics. |

A bit harsh, Eunos. I don't think Rex meant to say it (but that is a different story). No-one who is a happy and genuine person (such as Rex) deserves to be mugged like that. And to say it is because he is a 'tourist' is just stupid.
All the same, well said Dave - but a person like Rex will sell more then a bombing in Pakistan. Sad, but true. Its what appeals to our Melbourne based, footy fanatical public. |

Gee, Eunos. Someone should tell those black as charcoal Tiwi islanders that Rex is in business with that he is in fact a racist and hates them. _________________ Genesis 1:1 |

Totally agree with you here mate.
This has been a bugbear for me all my life dude.
A few years ago SEVEN people died in an English channel ferry crash or something and it was headline news here on TV & newspapers for weeks.
A day later THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND people died in an earthquake and huge flood in Bangladesh and it was passingly mentioned almost as an afterthought just before the sports segment! I will NEVER forget that as long as I live. Disgusting priorities in the TV news departments. |
