It's about time someone said that.
Joffa's thread made no difference to the result.
Nor did losing the toss.
It was all about the guys taking the field tonight.
It wasn't their night and we weren't at our best.
Can't average 6 tackles a quarter and expect to win a final. |
Well Got give Credit to Joffa - Posting this and Knowing he could make himself look like an Idiot.

Time for Kingswood (and David, and Wolftam) to study sub-atomic physics and the string theory. (Joffa is obviously connected to it..well, we all are). |
Are you in chaos theory realm kickit2me? You can't seriously suggest that a more cautious post by Joffa would have altered tonight's result, and for all we know it could have had a positive effect. That's how it works. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Omens and jinxes etc are one thing...and ultimately they mean nothing.
But it goes to a whole attitude problem going into this week which was too cocky.
Joffa, you have the brains and the wisdom to know that you never underestimate your opponent and if you dont pay them respect they will get you.
I fear more threads like this will appear in the future. Yes, they have become a jinx now...but they also indicate matches we are going into a bit too sure of ourselves.
I love your motivational speeches and your stirring...give us more of that and not arrogant stuff, _________________ There's more to life than footy.........just not much more. |

Can't speak for DTM, but my subliminal mind is telling me your 'depth' resembles absurdity. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Was it just me, or did anyone else think this.. Late in the last 1/4 Ch 10 showed a "not impressed" shot of Joffa and we thought that Joffa should hold up the 'game over' sign? Had to be here in my lounge right? _________________ understanding stuff, with endeavour to overstand.. |

What a cop-out. How does my age and life experience give your argument any more credence?
Your argument... remind me exactly, what is that again? One supporter's cockiness on a discussion site is a major cause of a football team's poor performance?
What are we talking about here? Karma? Chaos theory? Do you think our 22 crowded around Nick's this afternoon and, as a result, got a little ahead of themselves tonight?
Here's what I believe. Joffa's post may have had an impact on tonight's match, in the same way that the last thing Chris Dawes' girlfriend said to him before the game or the death of a blowfly had an impact on the match. So what do we do? Stop Joffa from expressing his boundless optimism before matches? Get Chris Dawes' girlfriend to start being a little more supportive? Stop the brutal killing of blowflies?
Or, maybe we can look at far more substantial and relevant reasons for our loss tonight. How about our decimated forward structure. Our lack of experience and leadership on the ground. Poor performances from some senior players. Player conditioning and fitness. Even the way the media built us up probably had an impact.
No, let's just believe in jinxes and superstitious nonsense. After all, that way we can be protected from reality.
Come back and visit me when you have an argument. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
