Collingwood 136.5 72
Carlton 112.3 64
St Kilda 125.7 56
Sth Melb 104.7 56
Geelong 102.4 48
Richmond 101.6 48
Footscray 91.2 44
Hawthorn 111.4 40
Fitzroy 82.3 36
Melbourne 83.5 24
Essendon 81.5 24
Nth Melb 79.1 16
That is where I want us to be in 2010 absent of course the loss to Carlton in the Grand Final.
Now lets hear ya all!
And I want the Australian flag to get rid of the Union Jack of England and replaced with a Magpie. _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

The ladder was truly a great sight with all sides being suburbs of Melbourne . No CROWS , POWER , EAGLES , DOCKERS . BRISBANE , GOLD COAST, SYDNEY OR WEST SYDNEY .
All games were played in Melbourne at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. |

Welcome back Hiss.
Now why did you have to go and ruin my New Year with the mention of 1970?
That year we should have romped it in. We had by far the most talented side in VFL history to that point. We were so good, that even after he was knocked into the next year and played the second half unconscious, Peter McKenna still kicked 7 goals. Pity someone else didn't stand up and kick a few.
I'll tell you what though, the coaching staff should show a replay of that grand final on the eve of every game against the Scum. If that doesn't turn our boys in wild avengers, then I'll go he. We have got to inflict a lot more pain on the Bluescum before karma is ever achieved for the 1970 grand final loss. |

Hi Jack
What is your thoughts about our chances in 2010? Can we do it this year? Or do you think we can ever do it while this Board are there? _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

If this is so how did we lose the 1970 Grand Final? Was the 1970 side more talented than say the 1927-1930 sides? I think not... your proposition sounds like hyperbole to me. _________________ "Only the weak believe that what they do in battle is who they are as men" - Thomas Marshall - "Ironclad". |

Sorry it's taken me a few days Hiss. Realistically we will probably bomb out in a Prelim this year. I'll accept that as long as we are truly developing the outstanding young talent we have. In other words, by mid-season I do not want to see certain veterans and good club servants (but ordinary footballers) still in this team. We all know who they are. I have three or four in mind. I want us to play the kids this year (especially Dawes).
I think 2011-2014 can be our period of domination. Three flags at least, even against the cashed up new teams.
About the Board, our views are well known. I'll give Eddie this year only without a flag. If we don't win in 2011 he better fall on his sword. |

Yeah well it is not Jack Spain's ultimatum! Eddie pressed the start button in the clock at the 2008 AGM when he stood in front of the Club elite members and said we will have a flag in three years. By my reckoning that means we have two to go from now. Now Eddie would not want to be found to be making shallow and false promises would he? _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

Presidents of many clubs say those sort of things all the time and don't resign. Why should Eddie? Oh sorry, I forgot - Because you said so!.
