I am not talking about double ton's in dayers!!!! What i am talking to you about have u ever seen Hayden or Gilgrist ever make triple ton in the test version of the game????

Actually Mrs Slater its the boring batsman that OCCUPY the crease and make the run rate for players coming in down the order higher. The pressure builds and other batsman are forced to take risks and more often than not, they go out.

Australia are fortunate to have two of the best openers in the world who score at a fast run rate. Otherwise Mr Martyn wouldnt have the luxury of playing himself in like its a test match.

JLC, I think the inference from Mrs Tazza is clear - do you ever actually READ a post before you reply? You rarely address the issues raised.

Whether he is good, sexy, quick whatever - doesn't matter. Is he boring?

... he certainly doesn't make me want to jump up and down and spill chocolate milk everywhere.

JLC I was asking you a question which you didn't answer which I think is the point Donny was trying to make! As for the question is he a boring batsman no he is not. He plays a different game to other cricketers and I don't know how many times I have to say this that batsman like him are needed in a team! Pies Premiers you are being childish now! As for Clarke he is ten years younger than Martyn so obviously he has a lot more to offer in the future! McGuane's 77 Bounces I do value your opinions a lot more than others at least you are willing to back up what you are saying instead of just making childish comments like let's start a boring chant!

Ok in terms of averages Martyn could average more than Gilchrist ?? So i dont think averages are the be all and end all. Its when you score the runs that matters. Waugh has proven himself all over the world against every team in the World. Can we say the same for Martyn?? Has Martyn made runs in a tournament that has mattered ?? I would say its easier batting up the order as opposed to coming in down the order and expected to blast runs.

Martyn doesn't score his runs as quickly as others so hence that makes him not as exciting as those who do HOWEVER HE IS NOT BORING! YES OFTEN SLOW TOO SLOW SOMETIMES SURE BUT NOT BORING! When he is in form he plays some damn nice shots that ARE DEFINATELY NOT BORING! For god sake can we get off the boring word this is so draining! As for a game Martyn has won for Australia take a look at a previous Damien Martyn thread it states one there!
