Or this which Mick Malthouse said at the coaching press conf yesterday
"It's one of those moments I guess, we come to realise that being an AFL footballer doesn't give you an immunity to tragedies.

"A lot of boys would like to think they wear a Superman suit around, but unfortunately that's not the case."

CCTV has shows that it looks like it was an accident, JMAC trying to jump to a Palm Tree to get off the roof. Just so sad.

I do not have the words to describe my feelings towards the throng of media waiting at Sydney airport this morning for the Port boys to arrive back. None.

yeah its a pretty crazy thing to do....the palm trees he would have tried to make a jump for are like 20-30M high & were 2-3M away from the building. Wonder what his blood alcohol was to make such a bad decision ?

Just watched a recording of the club last night. The photo of JMac and Dawsey walking off the ground after their debuts in 08 showed how young these guys are when they walk into the football club.

I feel for his parents. The anguish that they must be experiencing could not be described.

RIP

Someone of sound mind would have known the dangers of doing something like that.

The situation is such a tragedy and could have easily been avoided. It's so sad for his family who will now have to live with this for the rest of their lives. :(

Two years has really gone fast, still very sad that he's gone so young. Had such a bright future ahead of him. 'Twas sad when he left the Maggies, but still loved seeing him do well for the Power.

Very sad RIP Jmac.

Do we actually know what went on. I ask simply through not knowing. Was it alcohol, drugs, both or none of the above that caused JMac to have experienced that error of judgment when he jumped so tragically to the palm tree?
