Every team knows we can't handle sling-shot footy. Teams congest our forward line and get us on the rebound. The opposition forward entries are fast, and into an open forward line, hence the high efficiency they achieve.

We've been beaten like this since the Hawthorn game. Aside from our bad skills, the coaching staff have to take blame for their inability to counter this tactic. It's not good enough Bucks, and piss off if you are going to say in the presser that the players didn't adhere to team rules. I love you Bucks but remember what stubborness and arrogance did to James Hird.

So what to do? Can we play the sling-shot footy style other teams do? Personally I don't believe we have the running power and kicking penetration and accuracy to pull it off. Do we need to accept this is the footy of the future, and recruit accordingly? Possibly.
Do we play man-on-man? Do we stack our own backline/midfield, and ensure an open forward line? Not sure.

What I do know is that I don't want to go to the footy and see the Pies hold the ball up around the boundary lines while the opposition set up defensively, and then just bomb it high to a congested forward line...then have some points rushed against us, and pretend that inaccuracy is to blame, and then say if we could only fix our kicking everything will be good. In the least, when we have the ball 60m out, and the whole of the opposition team is parked in our 50, we can try to create some overlap run using handball and kick at goals from distance. Popping the ball up high into the goal-square again and again? I think we've tried that one.

And if Essendon roll us with the sling-shot game plan in rnd.23, then the end for the coach will be closer than you'd think.

Knowing full well Fasolo would continue his shitful efforts against the teams in the eight. I hope this is the last time we see him in the seniors - period.
He now has ZERO currency, and I can't see any other team touching him with a pole come trade time.

Cloke has regressed at an alarming rate, he offers nothing off the ball and he's lost his marking strength, he isn't a smart forward, not sure what we're going to do with him TBH, he deserves to be dropped.

Give credit where it is due; he has transformed himself from the most feared power forward in the AFL, to a useless steaming turd pile.
