^^ agree. I think Fly would actually be pretty ruthless behind closed doors. Not petulant or hot-headed, but frank and non-negotiable.

To flag that Ash would be going back to the twos in the presser was pretty blunt. Most coaches would crap on about “we’ll take a look at the best mix blah blah”. I reckon there would be some pretty confronting conversations taking place inside the four walls (which is the right place for them - not in the public domain).

Praise publicly, castigate privately.

Yea. In this instance, the worst performer in 2 losses. Sometimes the obvious is what it is.

You'll all feel better when you're in bed on Thursday night and Collingwood are 1-2.

Some of our ageing players must have attached their monitor to their dog in the off-season.

+ all eyes to our VFL side over the next few weeks.
Jack Bytel, Lachie Sullivan, John Noble, Charlie Dean, Ed Allan, Jaykob Ryan. All going well, we'll see them blended through the seniors before the mid-season break.
Tew Jiath, Harry DeMattia, Ed Allan, Josh Eyre.

There's our future that we're aware of.
With having traded our 1st rounder in 2024, we'll have two organic 1st round draft picks before Tassie scoops the draft pool in 2027.

Looks like the VFL pies had a good win first up. We’re down 5goals to zip before kicking the next 10 goals to 3/4 time and then steadying in the last.
The stats say Ned Long was our highest AF score with 140 and Richards kicked 3 goals. The highlights video shows some good team play. Carmichael, Noble, Allan, Bytel and Sullivan amongst the AFL listed players along with co captain Glover.
Not sure about the strength of the Sandy opposition though it’s nice to start the VFL season with a win and a little promise.
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter

Sandy were one of the better teams last year from memory they played in week 2 of the finals.

Just a side note watching the Hawks play the Demons... betcha the Hawks dont play this shite as when they play against us.

Clubs always get up to play against us, generally speaking and certain clubs just play well against us. Would just love to see the Dawks have an off day against us.

Why would they. We are mentally weak against the Hawks, and have been for the past 30 years.

We have to beat Hawthorn and Essendon and at least one of Port or Carlton.

Doing that puts us at 4 - 4, which isn't great, and likely to be 2 or 3 wins behind 4th. But it gives us a chance.
