Congratulations Maynard game #200

Post by qldmagpie67 »

Hadn’t been on much this week and surprised that there was no celebratory thread for Maynard’s 200th
For mine every successful side needs that 1 guy who has that harder edge to them and would do anything to protect his team mates.
He’s courageous, he’s highly skilled, he’s hard as a cats head and most importantly he’s a team player.
When I think of Maynard I think uncompromising I think leadership, I think never beaten, I think passion.
I’ll never forget his joyous celebrations after winning the 2023 flag and the big kiss he planted right on the lips of Darcy Cameron
Congratulations Bruzzy on reaching 200 and head towards 300 and beyond

Congrats to Brayden. Fantastic achievement to reach 200 and still going strong. He’s one of the few aggressive “ hard at it “ players left in the modern game who play on the edge but don’t miss games through suspension doing it. That’s a special talent in itself.

Congrats to Brayden - for me he's the closest payer we have had to Darren Millane.

Skilled and courageous and intimidating to the opposition. Just get Think Positive's picture from the weekend of Fritsch's face when he realises Maynard is about to tackle him.

Check out this - his kick to Howe (about 1.09 in) is sublime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ujFtExBPd0

What an amazing team player Bruzzy has become. Love his presence and efforts alone.

He has made mistakes, been supported, learned and grown, supported and become a leader of the team on and off the field. I'm looking forward to another fine outing for Maynard and hope the team can turn it on support of him too.

Hopefully Bruzzy has a long and successful footy career to come!

And if I know Nick’s, not many of the posters who hated him would remember that they hated him

The spirit of 'Pants' Millane resides in Brayden Maynard. Highly skilled, incredibly competitive and as tough as all phuck. The rest of our team walks taller with Brayden in our side. The epitome of an on field leader. Congratulations Brayden Maynard.

Rude you’ve hit the nail on the head
He is Pants reincarnated in a bigger faster body
But has that same unyielding desire to win at all costs
Someone posted earlier that he plays on the edge but doesn’t get rubbed out
That’s a key to him
I’ll never forget how he flew the flag when Nick D first started out and was playing HBF any time a opposition player went near him with hostile intent Maynard appeared to make sure they knew that wasn’t going to happen on his watch.
That was important as Nick was finding his feet.
Moore Howe Murphy IQ Noble are all good to great players but don’t have that physical enforcement power like Maynard has

First to put his hand up for the toughest jobs in football, and last to moan or expect accolades. The cultural engine of the team and a gun player. Congratulations, son.

IF Pants Millane was alive, he would love Bruzza, his type of player, dour, tuugh as old boots, but with a lot of skill. Hope he tears povvo Roos to shreds, give em hell, Bruzza. !
